Thanks Chris, it's been a few years and my age seems to affect my memory, I'll just plead ignorance

Its unnecessary to remind me that I am welcome to do whatever I choose
I rest my case your Honor

Beagler, you have posted asking for advice & recommendations which several people, who have considerable experience in this field, have kindly offered. However the tone and attitude of your replies is somewhat disparaging and unnecessary IMO.
We are a friendly club with a membership who collectively have considerable knowledge of all things Caterham & Lotus 7, members that are more than to willing to help. Perhaps a bit of courtesy wouldn’t go amiss, after all it costs nothing.

As JK says, perhaps a footrest would help?

Reply #11 Indeed, thank you MRP

As Jonathan says, carbon particles are electrically conductive so if sucked into a Dremel they will burn it out, trust me I know

I have the 1" & they are great but I'm only 5' 6" Fitted them 5 years ago & never had a problem with the Velcro but I cleaned the seats thoroughly with Isopropanol before applying.

I don't believe some people, you spend a fortune on an expensive toy and then bodge a job rather than spend £14 for the CORRECT TOOL and do it properly.

A standard right hand wind back tool like THIS will do the job but I found it's easier to get it on the caliper if you grind the small inner lugs off. IYSWIM

I don't think you will have "boiled" your brake fluid, the reservoir caps on Caterham master cylinders are notorious for leaking, especially the ones with level switches. Do it up as tight as you dare and wrap to catch any leakage.
EDIT: Also I don't fill mine to the top, probably 5mm below the bottom of the filler neck.
