  2. As above have stated and it looks like its the wrong bolt and has been wound to end of its threads hence will not tighten further

    If any interest I have for sale a R400 1800 K race cat with four primaries leading into the cat this was built by Cheeseman for Caterham

I have a few tyres available for new homes and could possible be delivered to the Caterham Easter open day and if so would be there first thing, all tyres are used and either at wear bar or up to 2 mm away but for the purpose of sale at wear bars. The ZZRs would probably MOT though ZZR in A60 road/race compound 215/55/R13 x 4 off @ £25 each ZZR in A60 road/race compound 185/55/R13 x 2 off @ £20 each CR500 205/55/13 x 4 off @ £20 each

  14. I have a used but as new Carbon (on top) / Kevlar (underneath) SV / CSR Scuttle it has a bare but lacqured centre stripe section for the looks and the rest of the top painted white. It does have two holes drilled for a centre mirror, And a single hole each side for side mirrors, There is no vertical panel fitted but the standard hole pattern is drilled, Collection only as it is so light as it may well blow away from the back of a delivery van, Item is located in Suffolk but i do travell to most race circuits during the year if this helps, Looking for £250 if not obtained i will cut the centre out and bond it together again and fit it to my series 3 car

    Sierra Driveshafts

    The earlier tin can end Tripode joints can be replaced but are a messy pain to do though, I made a jig to hold the spring compressed while you peen the can edge over to hold it all together. The latter style i have no experience off. The Lobro joints are easy peasy to replace and yes several Locost buildes have made bastard shafts with Lobro at diff and Tripode at the hub. The shortened shafts were from a version of a 1.6 Sierra which came in two different dia and a few different spline numbers but does not matter which as long as you have the correct Tripode / Lobro joint splines to match. The length to shorten and re spline can be calculated by the difference between SV shafts and S3 shafts remembering that the left and right are different lengths.

    Several companys out there to make custom drive shafts ask the rally / sprint / hill climb boys, If you are going this route have them gun drilled to add strength. Not sure if using lobro joints rather than tripoid that they will fit in the De-Dion ears though, But the lobro joint is by far the strongest and heaviest

Your tyre fitter should or could have a piece of moulded plastic which he or she should place over the rim just where the bead runner runs the bead over the rim edge to stop the friction marking the rim edge, Or at least mine has / does have, And plenty of bead fitting soap on it as well, Fan heater not as good as laying in the sun for an hour or so and tuning every 20 mins or so

  20. Very strange ! My mobile tyre fitter almost fits mine with his bare hands for the race car and they are the same compound, Try laying them in the sun for an hour or so beforehand
  21. If anyone needs the scuttle lip for the above S Forshaw style mod I have one available with M 4 riv nuts fitted so ready to bond to your existing scuttle postage would be very difficult as rather flexible
