  1. Is there a really good guide to this somewhere, to help you choose waht to go for. Something simple like a diagram and then a descripton of each? In summary what I want is the safest roll cage I can get for the SLR without going to a full cage. thanks g Superlight R #41
  2. Could someone tell me what guage tube I need to attach this to a Superlight R dry sump tank? Even better if you have the product code from Demon Tweeks! thanks g Superlight R #41
  3. I have a SPA digital speedo to fit. Has anyone any experience of doing this? In particular I am trying to decide where the best/easiest place is to put the magnet and sensor. The instructions only talk about on the axle but it looks a lot easier if I could put this on the inside front wheel. Any help greatly appreciated. g Superlight R #41
  4. now I am depressed! Superlight R #41
  5. these look the mutts nutts 😬 which did you go for? Superlight R #41
  6. Rob Did you cover a large chunk of the inside bonnet area or just near the air filter? Really trying to avoid the ECU upgrade + vernier + Jenvey + air box £1500 upgrade route just to get through Bedford! gavin Superlight R #41
  7. Glenn, funny I was just thinking that on the way home, having just ordered the material! I even considered, in a mad moment, having 2 bonnets - one with the acoustic foam on to get me through Bedford Autodrome and another for the more civilised and welcoming tracks like Snett. g Superlight R #41
  8. The acoustic foam was what I saw. Self adhesive + dampening sheet (stops vibration) + O grade sound deadening foam (whatever that means!) + foil (withstands 250C so OK for my engine bay!) + £35 for a large sheet (from another outfit called noise killers.) gonna give it a whirl Superlight R #41
  9. google found this (looks like I might be talking to myself 😬) http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/felt.html g Superlight R #41
  10. Someone suggested this as a possible help with induction noise. Any ideas out there? Especially on a fire proof type material? thanks Superlight R #41
  11. A10ROX Where do you start? Looking down on the helmet it looks as though it will be where the fabric cover (for the foam pads) is wedged in between the white shell and the pad. g Superlight R #41
  12. Anyone managed to do this? How 🤔 🤔 It just looks to me as though you'll dmage the darn thing pulling all the padding and lining out - it seems pretty well stuck in. Any help appreciated. g Superlight R #41

    Warming up engine

I feel the transmission tunnel to see how warm things are getting. When my left hand is warm, engine's ready. g Superlight R #41
  14. Jimmy, so with the Jenveys you can get an airbox to fit without cutting holes? Might need to follow your lead on this, especially if I fail Bedford on the 24th ❗ Superlight R #41
  15. Dave, isn't there a slight fire risk with felt 😬 Superlight R #41

    noise

Has anyone got through Bedford recently with a similar setup: SLR, Raceco 7.25" silencer, no airbox - standard 190 TBs? thanks Superlight R #41
  17. Bernard Scouse job 🤔 Superlight R #41
  18. Myles, I was going for the Oil pressure/temp and water temp/volts for the time being. You could site the warning LEDS across the top of the dash (above the speedo & tacho) and make them Superbrites? g Superlight R #41
  19. I would appreciate any suggestions for an airbox on the VHPD. As ever, trying to bring the noise down, so any feedback on noise reduction would be useful as well. thanks g Superlight R #41
  20. nice work! I notice you have the Autocom as well (plugged into the RA). I used to have an RA, but the Snooper is a lot more compact and I think would look good on your dash (also has laser built in so no need for the separate sensor). What do you think of the Spa digital dials - I was about to replace all of my analogue dials with those. Actually the way I am going I might as well get a new dash (current is carbon though, so slightly pricey) and start again as, like you, most switches are redundant (SLR so nothing on it!). g Superlight R #41
  21. Myles, BTW I am trying to beat you in the 'my dash has more gadgets than Concord' stakes! (Your SS2 installation notes were helpful - thanks.) So far....SS2, Snooper S4, Spa digital speedo to come, and a DL1 data logger in the post. Can't fit a mini TV but working on it. g Superlight R #41
  22. Myles I have looked at your site and the bike comp. notes of yours before. I am following your lead in not using the speedo which jumps about +/- 15mph over 50mph anyway, and am going to treat myself to a Spa digital speedo - the only (built in)backlit solution I can find. g Superlight R #41
  23. Myles, useful data link BTW. Superlight R #41
  24. Myles, I take your point about seeing the thing work. I have seen a number of posts suggesting that the lights start to come on in the 6,000 - 7,800 range. Not sure I see the point of this as the car goes so quickly through the revs you never get to see the light sequence, you would only really get the flash at the end. Might as well have only one light (the built in one) if that's all you want/need (i.e "SHIFT UP NOW"). having a wider range means you can use the sequence of lights more usefully through the whole rev range - i.e. not bother looking at the tacho at all. I was thinking 3500 - 7600 (give me some time to react before the VHPD blows!) What a great piece of kit though! g Superlight R #41
  25. Just fitted the SS2 (which is great). Could anyone suggest some shift values? VHPD specific if possible. thanks Superlight R #41
