  1. Whats your best price delivered guvnah
  2. I used an MGF part WJH105210 which has a quck release fitting on the rubber hose, so you have to take the two down to pirtek and get the man to fit the fitting off your original hose. They did it for a fiver. http://i65.tinypic.com/23sgo74.jpg
  3. Was it AK02 on Tuesday morning
  4. The usual path goes something like Emerald ecu Jenvey throttle bodies Ported head, cams and pistons Exhaust In your case I guess the pistons will come first. You can then choose to have a ported head with your cams and an emerald. You would then be getting on for your vvc power but with the option of jenveys and cams in the future bringing the power figure to ~200hp. Mine was a 1800k supersport. Jenveys, emerald, verniers and airbox as a kit from dva. Diy fitted easy as Dave puts all the bits in the kit and loads of info on website and here. Ran around for a bit. Next was vvc head, 285 cams/springs etc and tf160 pistons. Thats how it is now. Vvc head needs special bits to convert to coventional cams and the cams are also different to non vvc head cams. Its all detailed on Dave Andrews website.
  5. Hmm that was all separated when I wrote the post . Sorry about the blob of info but its all there anyway
  6. Lotus Elan plus 2s Car was stripped to repaint and I have struggled to find the time to put it back together. Bodyshell inc doors bonnet and boot all restored and re painted proffesionally a number of years ago. Never been outside, paintwork is beautiful. Cost me £5000 at the time. body on good lotus galvanised chassis, new spyder side sills fitted. door window frames re chromed, new lock mechanisms, new hinges, new handles, new draught seals. new bonnet catches and springs, new cable mechanism and new bonnet stay. new grille and letters and intake trim, new headlight vac pods, as good as new maserati horns of correct type. new dash in walnut, new head lining (correct stitched type not a square of material that you need to make) new wiring harness front centre and rear sections new relays girling servo inc rebuild kit new radiator with brackets etc powder coated new front suspension arms, new trunnions, new bearings, new TTR spring and dampers. Uprights and hubs all refurbished. refurbished front calipers, and new brake hoses and new discs. rear supesion inc new spyder rear a frames refurbished rear calipers and handbrake mech and new hoses new Susan Miller CV drive shafts refurbished correct dcoe webers and airbox inc loads of new genuine weber parts. new fuel hoses. Twincam engine with a number of genuine spares inc spare weber cylinder head correct gearbox and 3.77 diff all glass comes with new seals filler strips and stainless trim parts all parts genuine Lotus with the vast majority now being obsolete. Loads of hard to find parts like door switches etc all included. down side is you will need to buy a carpet set and re trim the drivers seat. Then theres the small matter of gluing it together. You will also need to strip the engine and check it although the are new parts such as oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, bearings etc. I'm looking for a lot of money for it there are complete cars on ebay etc for around £8500, these require a rebuild and as anyone knows the paint alone will cost several thousand if it's done properly and more important looks good after a couple of years without sinkage, mapping and osmosis. Then theres the small matter of buying all the parts to replace the rusty parts, most of which will be supplied as repro tat, not genuine. A rebuilt Plus 2 that stands up to scrutiny will fetch over £25000. I built an Elan S4 so I know what is involved to make them perfect and I haven't got the time. I was keen until I bought the Seven and found it to be all that I had lusted after since I was 15 (now 45).
  7. And polevolt or trigger wheels or even qed for the jpt connectors
  8. No, coil on plug goes with later cam cover. Sagems use a junior power timer plug. The reason I went with the later style even though its not the best for looks is, the coils were easy to wire as I used a standard harness on the coils and then altered the loom to connect using econoseal connector from polevolt. Other reasons are weight and the fact that the plastic cover keeps the water at bay. None of this "my plug wells are full of water/shiz" shiz
  9. Not cheap and crucially also a bit heavy, but qed and others do a sagem vx coil and bracket that goes on the back of the head. When I converted from eu2 head with dizzy to vvc head I used the later vvc coil on plug.
  10. You pulled into the shell station. We were going to get jam sugar from asda.
  11. I'm waiting for the ok on the annual leave. Are there a few places left or is it getting a bit tight for time.
  12. Sorry for the noob question but how does this work. What sort of safety gear do you need. Mark
  13. QED should have all the springs and weights if you want to diy. A chat with Ken will prob be a good idea as he will tell you who might do a rebuild. What about electronic. Trigger wheels do a kit using a mega squirt. Or theres an omex.
  14. Could I take the clutch cable please
  15. RoHS just means it's compliant with the safety regs regarding components. Eg it won't give you cancer. If it is from emerald the it prob is an easy sync using an ftdi chipset. Go to ftdi.com and download the drivers and instructions, they are quite comprehensive.

I used tayna last time and I seem to remember that I likex them on facebook for a discount
  17. Has it got a plastic throttle body, if so its not unknow for them to stick the butterfly open a bit causing these sorts of syptoms
  18. So what are we saying then, remove the airbox for most power retaining the fi-glass ram stacks, or do we *need* the parallel ram stacks for best results?
  19. I like the idea of "snugging" the bolts. certainly when I did mine recently I went around about 4 times with the initial torque setting and each time I could tighten a bit more. On the fourth time round I got the obvious solid click of a torqued up bolt and went round again, then did the stretching 180+90+45 I was using the N series gasket
  20. Just in case anyone else tries to do this, the answers to my questions were yes, they are common, these are the correct pin numbers,it works and is neat. Tacho also reads correctly.
  21. Making progress past Telford.
  22. pistons are wound back in using a rewind tool trip to halfords for you you are fighting the hand brake automatic adjustment gizmo thats why brute force isn't getting it done
  23. A bit of a google on that part shows allcarparts have them for £44
