  1. I drove through France, Belgium and Germany at the weekend and none of the pump nozzles would fit. My car was built in April so if the problem is sorted, as you mention CC have said then it should work. You say that on your new R400 with Aero filler you have no problems, is that correct from experience or is it that CC say you should not have a problem with it? I shall have a chat with them tomorrow. DD
  2. Caterham removed the flap when in for 1st service. Do you just grind the welds off? is it as simple as that? DD
  3. Brand new factory built R500, I had the little flap in the fuel filler pipe removed to try and improve the access for the petrol pump nozzle, but if the nozzle has the collar on it it still wont fit and I have to use a funnel to fill up which takes ages. Has anyone sorted this problem out on their cars, and how did you do it? DD
  4. I started this thread last april a couple of weeks before I crashed it.......just had it rebuilt and would like to heat sheild the cabin.....has anyone anything new to add to the previous comments. Thanks for your help DD
  5. Does any one know where to source an alternator for K series R400. I did read somewhere that there is a similar unit from something like a Hyundi that fits, or did I dream it? Any ideas? DD
  6. Thanks for the ideas, I'll let you know how it works DD
  7. Blimey its hot in there!!!! As summer approaches the temp inside my new car is scorching. You can't hold your leg against the tunnel it's really uncomfortable and it we hav'nt had any properly hot days! Has anyone come up with a solution? I dread to think what it will be like in full summer and it is actually ruining the driving experience. Right now I wish I'd kept my old R400. I'm worried about heat shielding the tunnel as I suppose the heat needs to go somewhere and it may overheat. Anyone already looked into it? DD
  8. Sorry Guys hav'nt been able to keep up with Blatchat the last few days, but thanks to all of you for your help. I think I shall just have to de the arithmatic. Yeh it is the same Green as my last one but this time with black stripes. It appears so much more hardcore and faster than my old R400. Nigel, have you found the tunnel gets extreemly hot? Now the weather has warmed up its like resting your leg against a radiator, really uncomfortable.
  9. I have a new factory built R500, which I collected just before Christmas, it has been back twice for CC to calibrate the fuel guage, but it is still reading incorrectly. I was told it was an ECU upgrade issue, which they said had been sorted but obviously not. My old R400 stack dash read quite accurately at 36ltrs when full this one only reads 29ltrs and the fuel low warning light comes on at 9ltres. Has anyone else had the same problem, is it still ongoing or did you manage to rectify it? If it is simply a case of adding 5/6ltrs to the read out figure I could live with that, but I'm just not sure if the calibration changes as the fuel level decreases. It is frustrating as the car cost so much and I dont want to keep having to give it back, they have just had it for the last month sorting out a gearbox oil leak, armourfend issues and fuel guage. Any ideas anyone? DD

  17. Got my new R500 coming in oct so need to free up space for it! My R400: Heater Full Weather gear + interchangeable windscreen and Caterham Carbon aero screen and mirrors R500 under nose cool air induction sytem Two interchangeable exhausts - large one and a small very noisy R500 model + CAT Triple pass radiator Half doors Stack display All the usual R400 carbon bits Tonnau covers Engine was completly rebuilt by Minister in 2007 about 5000 miles ago. Current Mileage is 36k Caterham offered me £16K all I want is more than this, its more important for me to have a quick sale. DD
  18. It could be the throttle pot. I've had the same thing a couple of times with my R400. Also a similar problem can occur if the alternator is on its way out. If the battery loses charge and the alternator is unable to keep it topped up it affects the operation of the ecu. If you look on the minister web page and search on here it shows how to set the throttle pot up and what resistance it should read at idle. You may have to over drill the fixing holes and twist it slightly to get it to read 4.5kohm I believe.
  19. Just driving back from the Ring. Fantastic weather all weekend!!!! DD
  20. Nifty Great thanks for the quick reply. Its reassuring to know as I'm off to the ring this saturday and I need to get it fixed. DD
  21. I brought a twin hoop roadsport cage for my car...........hated it......climbing over the top, squeezing through the padding. It made spontaneous journeys in the car a pain, and forget having passengers, especially with the low cage. MInes for sale, brand new only on for a month...........now theres a sale pitch for you. DD
