  2. Sorry to all those that expressed an interest, I've been really busy and this weekend was the first that I've been able to get things together, I even advertised my car. If anyone is still interested please blatmail me and I'll email back some pics. Thanks DD
  3. I have put my baby up for sale on PH this morning, I need to take a break for a while. 2010 R500 Superlight with Seq Box - £29,999 no offers Factory built in the Top Gear 2008 car of the year colour of opalescent white, with orange stripes and decals. I have had the car since new but sadly the car is being sold due to illness. It has been maintained regardless of cost having had £11,000 spent on it in the last year. A full engine rebuild by leading race engine specialist Premier Power last April with new upgraded ECU and rolling road re-map and an upgraded 620R propshaft and diff and gearbox refresh. This was a £49,000 car when new with almost every box ticked, plus additional items: 6 speed Seq gear box Launch control Full weather gear, windscreen, doors with armrests and roof including roof bag Carbon aero screen Half doors Tonneau covers. These and the roof are modified to suit side impact protection. Side impact protection bars FIA track day roll bar Battery master switch Plumbed in fire extinguisher system, to engine and feet Large (quiet ish) exhaust plus a small R500 box (112dB) with cat and cat bypass pipe. Carbon induction track day air box 2 no additional 12v sockets in the cabin. Lowered battery i.e shortened passenger footwell accordingly. Included two spare front wheels and various part used tyres. Also available is a trailer, but would be priced separately. The car has done about 25,700 miles. Engine and drive train are in perfect condition having both had recent work. No track days have been attended since the engine refresh due to illness. The near side wing had very slight damage but was professionally repaired. I want it to go to a good home, but not too near me as that would be depressing, only joking, but I will be sad to see it go.
  4. Brian James MInno trailer with high level tyre rack and wheel clamp, winch etc I bought this s/h in March last year for £1200, Ive used it once and due to illness I need to sell, along with my Caterham, which be put up soon. I really want what I paid for it. I think its probably about 10/12 years old and in good condition. I bought it off Arnie and it had been well looked after. Please Blatmail if your interested, I'm in Dunsfold Surrey if you need to have a look at it. DD
  5. Just a word of advice. I had the UJ fail on my propshaft and it is by pure luck that I'm still here to recount the tale. Do not take a chance. There is the physical damage it does to the car, and potentially you through the side of your seat but also fuel and electrics running down the inside of the tunnel. My fuel pipe was squashed but luckily did not rupture, that combined with a damaged electrical loom and it would have gone up in smoke with me in it. Please make damned sure whatever it is down there is in good condition and fit for purpose DD
  6. Does anyone on here recall there being an issue with the diff cage and whether it was a factory recall item? I've had my 2010 R500D since new and have not received any notification from Caterham. I'm not sure if its simply a rumour. DD
  7. Does any one know where I can hire a leak down tester and a compressor to run it? DD
  8. It wasn't me your honour, if only it was. Been years since I helped a young lady into my car Sounds the same colour car as mine. DD
  9. R500D throttle cable, the Caterham store is out of stock. Does any one know if it is a standard item I could source elsewhere? DD
  10. I did slacken them but not a foot. I got it off but now need to slacken some more to reconnect. One of the issues was the end of the actual cable extending through into the loop that goes over the hook. It wasnt much but was just enough not to allow an element of wiggle Thanks DD
  11. All set to change my calliper and bugger me cannot disconnect the handbrake from the springed hook are there any tips or tricks? DD
  12. Thanks for the replies I have pm'd 2GBR. Surprised to find the flexible to the tee on the Di-Dion is not a braided hose, is this standard? DD
  13. (should calliper have two l's? my imac thinks it should) Noticed fluid on the inside of my rear wheel, but could not see where the leak was coming from, but on very close inspection it seem like the calliper seal is weeping. Never replaced these before: 1. how hard is it, can I use standard tools 2. It is on the same wing where some nutter nudged me on a track day. So bearing that in mind could he have damaged the caliper, it does not show any other signs other than this slight weeping. There was no suspension damage. 3. I understand it is a ford item which seal kit should I get? Any help is much appreciated, I'm supposed to be driving to Folembray in it next weekend. Not sure I have the time to fix it. DD
  14. Thanks Lee Yes Peter managed to find a very close match DD
  15. He has found a a match for the base coat apparently a Chrysler colour. DD
  16. I'm really struggling with the correct colour code. Caterham gave a me Max Mayer PE10 but my paint shop cannot find it. They are trying different makes to see if they can find a match. Does anyone have a clue as to what manufacturer of car/bike the pearl white is from as it may help in locating it? Thanks DD
  17. Thanks for the replies, I'll be calling around today to see if I can get it done. DD
  18. I have repaired my rear wing and I need to get it re-sprayed. I had a recommendation of a local place in Cranleigh but they could'nt be less interested. The paint is the white pearlescent and I have the manufacturers ref no. The wing is off the car and I have primed and flattened with 1200 wet and dry. (Probably not up to a professionals standard) Has anyone used someone in the Surrey area and can give a recommendation? Thanks DD
  19. I have the quaife seq, can I fit a flat shift? DD
  20. Thanks for the replies. Got a 22mm spanner and that got it off ok. DD
  21. Lamba sensor is really tight and I dont want to force it using mole grips (although I gave it a little go). I dont have a spanner large enough for the sensor. Its on a R500D and it looks like a 22mm. Before I pop out and buy the wrong spanner can anyone advise on what size it is? DD
  22. I got the wing off and only one rivnut problem. I'm definitely going to nylon bolt on the refit. Mark I may take you up on that rivnut tool, but I may not even bother replacing the one I had issue with. DD
  23. Thanks I've taken the boot floor out to get to those. I thought they would be rivnuts but not having done it before I wanted to be sure DD
