FIA Bar for 93 De-Dion... Has anyone had upgradeitis and have one available.. Cos I would love to turn some of my xmas overdraft into a roll bar...

Thanks chaps. New battery has been received from Banner. they have an agent in Brighton so I paid £35+vat for the same battery Caterham sell for £50+VAT... Hmm being taken for a ride somewhere methinks.. However... Still got same intermittent problem.... So am with you lot.. Am happy that new battery has been purchased as the bloody things are tiny, I will be using the 7 throught the winter which will possibly kill my old battery (age indeterminate!!). As you suggested, tried to start with lights on, did not dim lights so starter or wires to starter it is..as the realy (cheese wedge type rover unit) still clicks suggesting that it is attempting to supply power. Only P*sser is.. the starter is only 3 months old and came from Brise so dunno really. Might take it off and send it back if there is nothing obvious wrong.. I really love the 7 but it's really starting to irritate me at the moment... anyone got any petrol and a match?? Will possibly feel different later when I've fitted bits and pieces to her and (starter permitting) taken her for a spin! he's a cheesy geezer

It appears that my battery has died, The car is charging, my batery charger indicates that the battery is full, put it on the car, it starts, run it down the road with lights on - required unfortunately all seems well. Stop the car and the starter motor will not spin. ar is easy to push start and then runs without problems so i assume that the alternator is operating correctly. Therefore am I correc in assuming that the battery is knackered and is not holdintg charge. If you lot agree then the next problem I feel will be sourcing a new battery... Where will I be able to find a new one? Caterham sell them but they take too long to deliver.... So does anyone know a model number or stockist in the south east?? I am open to any ideas at present.. he's a cheesy geezer

Ken Might be interested. Only probs are: 1) Got to enquire how much a new immobiliser is 2) My K series is the older 110bhp with the cast ali induction.. don't think that the supersport kit is for this induction system,... any ideas on compatibility?? he's a cheesy geezer

Guys.. and Ladies of course.. Over the winter am thinking of upgrading my Standard 1.4k series.. However, I can obtain a standard 1.6k series for nothing. What additional ancillaries, engine mounts would I require to upgrade to the 1.6?? Is this possible, or will I basically have to junk everything, exhaust, starter, gearbox, ecu etc etc??? Is just a thought, and If it's not that big a job may release a few horses and give me far more scope for later upgrades.. Any help would be fab!! Dannyboy he's a cheesy geezer

Anyone have any idea if the stater for a 1.4k series (93 vintage) Is Caterham specific or can I match one? Mine has dies, possibly clutch in the motor, and I am looking to replace/ repair.. Went to motor factors, we couldn't actually match the starter. Anyone any ideas?? Or is it the £225 and 1 week wait, ie rip off and keep car off road as long as possible that Caterham Cars spares tend to be? Dannyboy Help... had to drive a normal car today... was like a bloody boat, no brakes, ships tiller and equivalent handling.... I don't mind getting cold and wet, I just want her back!! he's a cheesy geezer

Yeah.. bloody scumbags...!! What I'm trying to work out is... what the hell they gonna do with it??? Perhaps plant it.. maybe a 7 will grow?? Not the nightmare i expected, old door is OK.just no so pretty!... gonna fit a rottweiler car alarm!! Special Jaws 007 teeth and impeccable toilet manners!! Starting to use the car cover a bit more now though!! Anyways, good to hear from you again Matt!! Still haven't fitted the shocks though!! I have been told that the 4 pot brake conversion involves the purchase of what are basically old BL (think it was suggested Austin Princess??) callipers with Triumph GT6 discs... Is this correct and if so what mods do I need to make to get said system to work???? I know that every item on the 7 is stolen from some vehicle or other and am keen to upgrade to 4 pots asap!! Anyone suggest the donor vehicle for discs and callipers if I am incorrect?? Dannyboy he's a cheesy geezer (:p)
