  1. hi les,

do you have a foam airfilter on your model,if so,is it dry or damp.it should not be dry,if it is that could be your prob, for a few £ outlay buy a cleaner solution, then re oil, yours could be dry or blocked and that causes fould plugs, poor fuel consumption, just an idea and its cheap,if you go down this road, after re oiling, pat dry with paper towel to soak up the surplus.or hang fire as the clever lads will be here soon.

  2. hi michaeljclark,

    can't put photo up,not clever enough.if you jack the back up,crawl under,look up toward's rear bulkhead,driver's side, they should be tiewrapped to framework,on mine[2010 150 roadsport]there are 5 wire's hanging down,a single one,2side by side,and 2 tied together with onespade end turned end on,looking like a 't' shape.

one is black wire[earth],the other is purple/red stripe[live],THESE ARE THE ONE'S,if you put a meter on them,it will read 12v,you don't need to put ign'on to try,it work's without it on.good luck.

  3. hi dignity,

when rac gave you the codes, did you check your dash to see if you are getting the same codes,

press and hold trip button, now turn on ignition, the word TEST will light up where the trip figures are,now press the button 6 times and you will get OBD [on board diagnostics]then a number/numbers,then,google ford fault codes, and see what comes up.just to cross check rac diagnosis, you have nothing to lose by diong this and its practice for a later date.

    good luck.

  4. i used dynax s50 from bilt hamber laboratories, like waxoil but a bit thinner, gets in grot traps better, comes with a long straw with a sprayball type end fitted to it,so as you spray outside footwell traps,it will sure get everware.before i used it on my caterham[new in april],i ordered this when i ordered my car in september,i got 2 bolts out of garage, sprayed one,and left one alone, then left them lying in the kitchen grid all through winter, sink water, wash machine, rain, frost, snow, checked after winter over, one rusty one like new, well chuffed.i plan to give car a coat each year to top it up,also this stuff reheals itself if a stone does chip it,google it and see, good luck.
  5. smell the petrol,if it smell's like vinegar, its gone flat,it should smell sharp like a spirit.

also, check colour of spark,if its orange, bin it,it should be blue/white,and if you have tipped it on its side, did you make sure it was exhaust up,if your getting tired pulling the cord, take pull cover off and put a socket and drill on crankshaft nut to start it,whenit starts, pull socket off quick,as mower spins quicker than drill.

this way is handy if cord snaps,as it will get you out of a pickle.

    good luck.

  6. hi paul deslanders,

i take you'r point paul, but i'm waiting for some reader's to mark steering wheel and try it,[caterham/support vehicle].i may be wrong with my explanation, but i don't think i'm wrong saying they differ in turning circle's.

  7. hi paul deslandes

i'm under the impression,it's todo with steering collum comming out of steering rack offset,as left hand drive car's have odd turning circle's but opposit to us.r/h/drive car's have smaller turning circle turning right, than left.and visa versa

  8. myothercarsa2cv

when you turn you'r steering wheel lock to lock, the distances are not the same,no car is,one full turn circle of any car [caterham or not]is always shorter one way than the other.also, the distances are opposit for left and right hand car's

  9. hi nick,

good to meet you and the guy's on tuesday night,

the tool i was on about was a [launch c recorder]bought from workshopsolutionsonline,£63.see the cheesey video and get my drift.it seem's the same as your's,

good luck to you and graham? with you'r build's

  10. hi dan,

took mine back to it's midland's place of birth for my first medical, all spot on,arron did mine,stood/lay with him all the time, talked my through what ,why, keep an eye on,check clutch was'nt dragging, brake's free, tracking, camber, you have nothing to loose only three hour's of you'r time, and the travel will reel in that thousand mile, good luck anyway

    150 flavoured viper blue roadsport.

  11. what car have you got,is it on throttle boddies,i have a 150 roadsport and mine seem's the same, querried recently at 1k medical and was told the boddies dont like light throttle, press it,or don't,never had a car on boddies before, but once explained, seemed logical, car never stumbled since,

    WHAT A CAR,AWESOME.

  12. hi guy's

don't want to sound a tight wad here, but i have a 2.25ton lifting jack for my roadsport support vehicle [fiesta],i had in mind, when i come to jack rear of caterham up,remove jack front wheel's,and place a bit of 6mill stud bar under jack front end to allow it to roll and not scratch my battleship gray floor.give this a try before you splashout.
