  1. for my BB shift lights.

    I want to mount a small socket in the dash, so that the shift lights can be plugged/unplugged.

    This pm, I've tried wiring through a stereo audio jack and socket, but lights won't work this way ( may not be good enough contact ). I've tried all my local motor factors, audio and electric shops, but no luck. Surely such a thing is made.

     

    Any suggestions?

  3. My 7 ( 1.6K ) has a high tick over rate, 1500rpm, and is slow to drop from 2000 to 1500 rpm. Doesn't effect driving or gear changes, although limits use of engine breaking. I've tried cleaning the plenium/throttle body/butterfly valve. and checked that the butterfly snaps back shut. Appears okay. I've also reset the ECU.

    Takes a couple of seconds to drop.

    Any suggestions 🤔

    Thanks for your explanation. I think I'd rather leave the engine alone, than have no oil pressure on startup. *eek*

    I've always thrashed the B*****ks out of my cars, without causing any serious failures, but since the K was not designed to be mounted inline, I can see that oil flow could be interupted in extreme conditions. It must be difficult ( impossible? ) to say that this was the definite cause of any engine failure ( how common was this problem before Apollo's were fitted? ). I guess it's all a question of minimising the risk How often do Apollo tanks/hoses/connections themselves cause problems 🤔

  6. So the type of rollbar shouldn't limit the choice of car....No cutting holes in bodywork?

     

    Have been reading some of the archive stuff...re rollbars and cages etc...Would a cage be just as easy to fit? 🤔

     

     

  7. I'm looking at buying my 1st 7. I've seen one with the general spec I like, but it has the standard rollbar. If I wanted to do a track day, I'd need a FIA bar...Is it a difficult/pricey job to change it.. or should I keep looking?
