  1. Thats what I thought too. but seemed that way...... Looks like I may have to bite the bullet
  2. Im really hoping this is the last post I have to do on fitting wide track and Nitrons, im starting to believe I have numptyitus! All is in place but, after realising I hadnt fitted the spacer and special nut I duly undid the lower nut on the offside and fitted said bits. All OK Now then, after that I moved the the nearside and thought that the stud appeared larger that the other side but carried on. The securing nut when tightened has striped part of the bottom of the thread . I don't particularly want to have to replace the vertical and all the fun of removing the stub axle so was wondering if I could re thread the stud. Does anybody know of a good light engineering firm near Aylesbury that might be able to help???? Chris
  3. surely you need to undo the TRE? as well?
  4. After fitting the wide track kit, I appear to have forgotten the spacer that fits on the lower wishbone between the spherical joint and upright. I can see how that would change things a little but how critical is it and if it does need fitting has anyone any wise ideas about how I can do without stripping everything down GGrrrrr Chris
  5. thanks am doing just that very thing, don't want to have to go through this again!
  6. Thanks for the notes I have it jacked on the centre of the A Frame Where it suggested that it should be, im assuming thats ok?
  7. So been diligently fitting my wide track and associated Nitrons and have moved to the rear of the car. I have found the cap head bolt behind the seat under the carpet but it only moves about a 1/4 of turn tightens up in either direction Am I doing something wrong?? Chris
  8. Thanks John I will loosen them off and then torque them up on the ground then Cheers C
  9. After what seemed like a whole can of lubricant, a U clamp and a lot of swearing it came out. Do not want to do that again, the only thing is that the lower wishbone appears to bind a little even without the bolt done up (the washers were a pig to get in). But am assuming with a bit of use it will ease up. Thanks for the thoughts I hope its worth it!
  10. Yes the bolt head is defo facing the front its a bugger as I have to drift it towards the front of the car at this rate going to have to remove the primaries and the alternator! Chris
  11. bolt head is at the front. doesnt appear to be a clear line of sight to drift it put. Its PINA!
  12. HELP! Im putting wide track on the car and have done the offside and was pleased with myself, now for the passenger side and everything has come off except the rear bolt. Ive got the nut off but it was all I could do to turn the bloody bolt. Ive no idea how to remove the bolt as both alternator and the apollo are in the way. Do I need to take take the alternator off?javascript:insertAtCursor(document.postpage.message,%20' *mad*') Any useful thoughts would be most appreciated Chris

    Wide Track

Hi Im in the process of fitting Wide Track and I have bought a rather spangly set of Nitons from Meteor Motorsports after a lot of discussions ( fully endorse Simon top bloke) Anyway need somehere nearish to set the car up near Aylesbury, any ideas please Simon has suggested a chap down in Horsham which is a bit of a track so any suggestions would at least give me an alternative Best Chris
  16. Thanks chaps Have mailed Carl as I have an order with him for rear lights and wanted to know when they would arrive Does anybody know if there is anybody else doing the wide track as they seem to have been out of stock for the last 3 months! C
  17. All, I am thinking about going to wide track and fitting nitrons or something similar but excuse the ignorance, is it easy to do Do i need a spring compressor or do they just bolt off? and there seems a myriad of views about spring rates and ARB's Does anyone have a simplistic view or am I being simplistic!? Chris
