  1. What's the consensus on Yellow Stuff (or any EBC material) on 7s? I have tried them before on an Elise and found them horrid, squeely and snatchy, but not had them on a 7.
  2. It's personal choice really, but you'd not go far wrong with just being parallel. A touch out if it's predominantly a track car, a touch in if it is all road. No more than 1-2mm at the rim either way normally. My CSR runs parallel for ref, no need for the 620 to be any different for a mix of track and road.
  3. Not sure I'm afraid. If you aren't convinced by it then im sure they will let you keep it somewhere on the infield. May be worth speaking to the circuit themselves...
  4. Give Stuart at Premier Power a call. They make nice ones.
  5. Does anyone have any rear tail light bulb plates that they no longer require? I need to butcher some but would ideally like to keep the old ones in case the project doesn't succeed! All sorted - Thanks

  7. All, good news on this... I'm sure a few of you had emails from LoT asking about roll over protection recently... After a brief email chat with Paul Golding at LoT, he has confirmed as a result of that poll they are updating the wording to the following (as of today), which I'm sure you'll agree is much clearer: "All Caterham type vehicles must be fitted with an approved Roll Over Protection system(ROPs), as a minimum the upgraded track day roll bar with additional cross bracing. In addition, all Caterham type vehicles must be fitted with a 6 point approved roll-cage at Brands Hatch GP, Bilster Berg, Dijon, Spa Francorchamps."
  8. As an update, I ordered the QH ones and am returning. They look functionally the same (shorter thread after the taper and longer into the wishbone) but are not the same external appearance - see photos. Im sure it won't bother some, but they aren't for me, so I'm going to wait until Caterham/Redline have the pukka QR1798s in, or until I absolutely need them to get the car running.
  9. Caterham reckon that they will have them at the end of the month, but that is only a few days before Premier Power put the engine back in and dyno it. once that's in I don't want it off the road for a moment!! Ill give Chris a shout but sounds like I'll be unlucky!
  10. This is a very well timed post! Anyone used any of the above and can vouch for their quality? Caterham have been out of stock for months and my car is waiting on them before I can rebuild...
  11. Has anyone put a hole in the side of the tunnel to allow direct access to the fill/drain plug? Then you could come in through the footwell and re seal once done? Im considering doing it while my engine and box is out, hence the question... Mine has a hole for the reverse switch, but not the plugs which seem much more useful!
  12. Great! See you there! (Hopefully - I've got no engine, gearbox or suspension at the moment!!)
  13. I had the same situation earlier in the year when I got mine. Settled on L23 CSR as a nod to the engine. (Not for sale sorry, just thought I'd chip in with a worthless anecdote! )
  14. Bit of a thread resurrection, but having seen this when I was researching CSRs befor buying, and then having seen a shunted CSR as a result of this issue, I decided to check mine this week. One side cracked off as I unwound the bolt, the other is cracked through on one of the lugs. The car has done just under 40k miles. Lucky escape. If you've got a CSR, it'd be worth getting the mounts off and checked (no way of seeing it on the car unfortunately).
  15. Same here Ben - see you on the 13th! Sam (black and gold CSR)
  16. I'll check - cheers for the heads up. I did Silverstone this year without a full cage, so it's not the track's requirement for sure, but I'll confirm with LoT when booking.
  17. Great, thanks Steve, good to know for sure that it won't be the waste of a day! Silverstone is 5 mins from home hence my interest in doing it. Shame there are no Caterham Club days there
  18. I wonder if they have revised the rule recently, or whether it is universally policed as above? As I say, I've never been to one so can't confirm, but I am likely to do SStone in March with them - I'll report back!
  19. Funnily enough, I emailed them today before reading this. The response from them (copy and paste) is below: 'If you have a Caterham approved ROPS – a Caterham supplied track day roll bar would be ok. Ie. it’s supplied by Caterham for roll over protection on track days. Then it’s ok on our events other than at the 4 circuits listed above.' (Brands Hatch GP, Bilster Berg, Dijon, Spa Francorchamps) I then confirmed that no petty strut/cage/stickers etc were required, and they confirmed that as long as it was sold by Caterham as a 'trackday bar' it's fine, nothing else required Hope that's of use. I've never done a LoT day, but plan to next year, so only have todays emails to go off. Sam

Hi Mic, which ones, Multimatic or Bilstein please?
  21. It's worth mentioning that they are the same as k-nuts in that the top is deformed to ovalise the last thread. It gives them a fairly high prevailing torque (i.e. you won't be able to wind the bolt fully in with your fingers), which offers fantastic vibration/loosening resistance.
  22. #23 They are anchor nuts. You've got fixed ones there, but you can also get floating ones which can be useful in making the accuracy of the drilling less critical. https://www.clarendonsf.com/products/nuts/anchor-nuts
  23. I'm able to give yet another positive review for these. They are really nicely made and are absolutely rock solid with no vibrations. A significant upgrade from my previous plastic versions.
  24. Ok, thanks James. I guess that must mean the calibration of the sensor is fairly well controlled then. I replaced mine with a sensor from a motor factors and it has worked flawlessly, although I imagine when viewed with Easyview etc it may not be entirely the same.
  25. Re the TPS... I was under the impression that the ECU re learns the zero once it is power cycled. So as long as the sensor isn't on its end stop at either extreme of travel, it should be ok. I may be wrong on that, so it would be good if anyone could clarify?
