  1. Hi Chris, I have a petty strut that I no longer need, but my car is an SV, so may not fit a S3. Let me know if you're interested. Best, Charlie

My, My .... that was over quickly, Simon!
  3. In a fit of FOMO, I would also like a place in this ... even though I'm not going to at Anglesey. I might turn up just be part of Justin's garage party!
  4. I would also be interested in this, if there was room.
  5. Great stuff, Graham. All signed up and very much looking forward to it.
  6. only because you went faster than me in the final event! Hope you have a super Christmas and I look forward to seeing you on track next year. Best, Charlie
  7. Watch out, Andy. It looks like there's some competition is coming to Class 4 (already Hans device ...) Regards driving to/from the event, I have done this for a couple of seasons in my SV (often with a companion) and we have worked out a good system for packing (with a fair bit on my passenger's lap when there's two of us). It's fine and feels great to be doing it in a 'Corinthian' spirit, which was after all, the idea for the Lotus 7 in the first place. It also lessens (but doesn't eliminate) the risk of driving over your own bonnet ... sorry Andy, couldn't resist
  8. Clutch master cylinder for sale from 2017 Sigma 310 (owned from new). Changed out due to fly wheel and clutch change. Used, excellent condition (see below). £25
  9. Pair of adjustable Bilstein rear dampers and springs. To suit Series 3 or SV. Excellent condition (2 years and 3,000 miles usage). No longer needed due to upgrade. £150 for the pair, or feel free to make an offer

As you say Tony, there is a real risk that you will never hear the end of this ... I propose that we re-name the Speed Champs to the Tony Smith Championship, just so we don't forget what's it all about

    That's it!!

Ended on a high, Tony ... nice one Reiterating the gratitude to Graham for organising at least a curtailed season. I was pleased to be able to attend all 5 events, which when combined with last year's curtailed season (also 5 events) makes a whole season under my belt! I've really enjoyed making new friends, even if the Class 3 crowd remind me of the bar scene in Star Wars Already looking forward to next year (fingers crossed).. Charlie
  12. Well done for sorting this out, Graham.
  13. You may also want to give Stuart Cresswell at Premier Power a call. He fitted a lighter flywheel and clutch for me last year and it made quite a difference to the responsiveness and driving experience. As the name suggests, Stuart specialises in power upgrades so can also advise on other options. Good luck

  15. This sounds very similar to an issue I have had with my car recently (310R - 152 bhp Sigma). It was resolved - after much trouble-shooting by both PGM and Northampton Motorsport by reconnecting a 12V power supply from the battery to the ECU (apparently these are not always installed int eh factory). I suggest a call to MBE Systems (who manufacture the ECU), or take it to Troy at Northampton, who fixed mine. For reference, my misfire happened consistently at 5,500rpm at high throttle settings (low throttle input didn't create the same issue, leading us to think initially it was a fuel issue). PM me is you want more of a discussion. Charlie
  16. I want to pick the brains of the assembled experience about helmets. My eldest son, Archie, is keen to get involved in the Championship and we have a (tentative) plan for him to try out the Curborough August event as a Clubman entry with a view to entering next year as a novice (dual driving in my car). As he may not continue past this test event, I am reluctant to shell out for a brand new helmet for him. Any advice on what to go for and where to get a serviceable 'starter' helmet? It will have added use as a track day 'spare' especially as the current restrictions prevent hiring helmets for the day. Thanks, in advance, Charlie
  17. Hi Graham, Blyton is a bit of schlep from London .... too much for a day trip which makes a mid-week trip difficult for me. Sorry. Charlie
  18. I'm with Aled - as usual, slightly behind ... If a space comes available I'd be interested. Charlie
  19. *** this has now found a new home *** Bought as part of a kit from Demon Tweeks (https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/design-engineering-exhaust-wrap-kit-242388/), I have a complete roll left over as I have only needed one of the two rolls of exhaust wrap supplied in the kit. The roll is unopened (still in its plastic cover) and is a 50-foot length of 2 inch wide exhaust wrap. If anyone would like the left-over roll, you're welcome to have it. Demon Tweeks won't take it back and I have no use for it, so I'd like for someone to benefit from it. For reference, I needed one roll of wrap for the 4 exhaust pipes on my 2017 Sigma engine (wrapping as far as the outer skin on the car). You'll needd to get some metal cable ties but these can be easily purchased from Halfords or a DIY store.
  20. Hi, I've just spotted this thread whilst seeking advice on fitting a recently purchased Caterham set of shift lights ... and now think that I may have bought the wrong thing. Is the DRE set easy to fit (for an inexperienced mechanic/electrician)?
  21. Hi Dave, thanks. I try not to think about it too much. My best chance or not repeating the mistake is not to go to Coventry again! Stuart has been fantastic, although did have to ask him to stop suggesting upgrades by a certain point in the process :-) best, Charlie
