  1. Selling a spare weekend ticket for the festival of speed. 8-11th July. Sell out event. Face value, £172 Fraser
  2. Timb2117 - I have a radtec radiator with the fan on the back, is it easy enough to mount a larger fan on the front? I didn't think there were any mounting points on the front? Do you have a link to the fan you fitted? Thanks
  3. I would be interested in this aswell if anyone has any info on the fitting of the switch etc. I take it the scuttle panel does t need to come off. Thanks
  4. I'm rewiring my speedo at the moment. I have the older (2-wire) sensor and was told the red/blue signal wire goes to Pin 7 (red blue) but you have the newer 3 wire sensor so I would say your signal wire is correct and goes to Pin6 (white/black). Unlikely but maybe someone knows if the red gauge wire Pin3 requires a connection. The other thing to check would be the calibration of the gauge. Press the reset button for 2-3 seconds, the LCD will show the calibration number currently set. Each digit within the calibration number will flash in turn for approximately 2 seconds. (my gauge was calibrated to 8380 pulses per mile)
  5. I went from a 2003 to 2020 fuel gauge and the calibration was different with both gauges so caerbont had to recalibrate the new one. Maybe worth giving them a call. I wanted to change the bezel out at it is scratched, has anyone tried to remove the bezel & glass?
  6. Simon, thanks for the reply, both were connected into the old gauge but I am wiring in a new gauge and this is the set up of the new connector. Im happy that red/blue goes to pin7 (red blue) for 2 wire sensors. I've read that light green is +12v and also been told it would normally be to earth.
  7. On this subject, does anyone know what the 2 wires (light green and red/blue) are on the original sensor? I think the blue/red is the signal wire but unsure about the light green wire? Both wires go to the speedo gauge. Unsure if the light green is +12v or to ground?

  12. Looking to sell my private registration. Excellent for R300 spec models. R300 FNL. (F@?!'N HELL) Looking for £200 Thanks, Fraser
  13. Hopefully you managed to fix this Andrew, any further forward? I had a similar issue and found the cause to be the idle control screw was adjusted too high and out of range so under steady acceleration it was erratic.
  14. Looks good Blue, wonder if a perspex sheet cut to size would be better than the PVC so there is no flex or requirement for the extended bottom section across the boot cover? I might give it a go since we have a bit of time to waste around the house.
  15. From what I gather, the increase in the number of pulses to correct the VVC mechs is due to you reducing the response time to replicate a more viscous oil used. This shows how the vvc mechs are calibrated to the oil temps related viscosity. I think you would need to gauge if using a more viscous (50) oil has a similar effect to reducing the response time, the difference in the viscosity maybe marginal. The reduced response time may be the equivalent to filling your engine with treacle. It would be good to see the pulses generated using both 10w40 & 5w50 to show if it has any effect on the adjustments made by the ECU to show realistic effects.
  16. I have been using 5W50 Comma Motorsport Fully Synthetic (recommended by Caterham also stamped on the engine) I asked the garage to replace it with 10W - 40 and was told 'I need to stop reading forums' & 'they have been using 5W50 in all race elises with no issues. No matter where I look the information is always different. How much of a difference between the two will this really make? Good post and info though Andy.
  17. John, Perfect thanks, appreciate your help, I'll order up a rod and see how I get on. Fraser
