  1. Hi All I have for sale 4 15 inch 10 spoke alloys which were repainted antracite last year at Caterham Gatwick complete with centre caps and badges, fitted with CR500's tread depths are 1x3mm 2x4mm and 1x5mm with no side wall cracks in good condition. The wheels were fitted with red rim savers when painted and are as new condition. Were fitted to my S3 Supersport and only removed to make way for new set of rims and rubber. Looking for £400 collection from East Grinstead West Sussex. John

    15 inch tyres???

Thanks for the offer Garth, but everything I will find will be old stock, so I am looking for a change hence thinking about the R888r's Hi JV, geometry is spot on having had the car set up at DPR in Redhill, Surrey. Derek did an excellent job, on the CR500's it rides well with lots of feedback. With the ZZS's fitted the front end seemed to wash out and did'nt give a lot of confidence. Wrightpayne are the R888R's good on the road? The only doubt I am having is as they are more of a track day tyre that road driving won't let them get up to a working tempreture. My Supersport is a 140 Sigma so not as temperamental on the throttle as some of the more powerful models.
  4. Hi all I know this is a well worn subject but I am looking to change the tyres on my 140 supersport. I have 15 inch wheels and don't want the expense of buying a set of 13 inch rims so wish to keep what I have. At present I have CR500's 195/45x15 which are getting a little old, hence the reason for the change, I have tried a set of Avon ZZS's but they weren't anywhere as good as the CR500's for grip and feel so the CR500's went back on. I have been looking at the new road legal Toyo R888R's, I use the car for sunny days and blats on the road but at present don't plan to do any track days at present. Has anyone tried the new R888R or is there a better alternative out there? Hope everyone is well and staying safe. John

    Indoor car cover?

Thanks for the replies Looking at the Hamiltons website they sell an "indoor supertex semi fitted car cover" for the Caterham. Has any one got one and is it any good? John
  7. Hi all I am looking for a cover for my S3 Supersport, it's kept in a garage looking for something that will fit well, give a little protection and is breathable. Any suggestions? John
  8. Hi I am selling five 15 Orcus alloys with Avon ZZS's fitted. These were bought new from club member Alan Reeves for my Sigma Supersport. I fitted them and decided that I preferred the look of my original rims (don't tell the misus!!) They are a nice looking wheel and the spare has never been fitted. I am after what I paid for them £1000 which is under half the price if bought from Caterham. Any questions please contact me, the wheels are collection only due to the size and weight from Redhill in Surrey. John
  9. Hi John These are what I have ordered, they to be the right size and thread - M8 x 1.25mm Male-Female BALL JOINT, TRACK ROD END exclusively from McGill Motorsports. These item is a M8 x 1.25mm Standard Pitch Right Hand Thread, Male to Female High Performance, High Misalignment Angle Ball Joint - ideal for use in all types of motorsport or Kit Car type applications such as linkages and Anti Roll Bar Links etc Product Code: SQ8RS They are £6.89 so about the same price as the Caterham item but look to be a stronger joint and post free. I will let you know how I get on with them when they arrive and have been fitted. John
  10. Thanks for the link to the Geoff Brown thread, I have ordered 4 of the McGill rod ends and are going to give them a go. John
  11. Hi SM25T I'm sure mine is a watts linkage chassis (S3 2015), the part I changed was caterham part 72118, they are a small ball joint with a retaining curl pin. I'm sure these where making the noise as when on the jack and striking them with my palm a metallic knock could be heard. They have a small rubber dust guard fitted to the ball side of the joint which made me think that maybe a heavy lithium grease in the cup was needed upon fitment?
  12. Hi My Supersport S3 has a metalic knock to the rear suspension mainly when hitting pot holes or raised man hole covers, upon inspection the passenger side anti roll bar link ends seemed to have worn as they had a degree of movement that the drivers side didn't. Ordered 2 new link arm ends, fitted them but they seem the same, is there a grease that should be used when fitting to cushion the ball joint link ends? John
  13. Bargain of the week! 5 new Orcus light weight alloys with ZZS's fitted, surplus to requirement. Over £2000 new, asking £1000 collection only from Redhill Surrey. John
  14. Hi Erngor The wheels and tyres were taken off my 2018 supersport, built at Caterham Crawley. John
