  1. My T piece does not have a mounting hole but I have some ideas on how I could mount it without the P clip Will try later
  2. I did mount it on the spare horn post bolt (I took the passenger side horn off) but I am guessing using a rubber sleeved P clip will not provide an earth. I may try with a metal only P clip tomorrow I'll have another look at some other options as well keep the ideas coming!
  3. Cheers Jomathan Just for my sanity I tried new sender in normal non-remote position - 4 bar shown on gauge - :-) In answer to your questions 1. I'm chilled just a bit frustrated thought it would be plug and play! 2. OK I assume the earthing happens back through the fT piece and flex hose to filter housing to block 3. 1 terminal on sender - all I did was connect a short fly lead between existing sender connector on loom to new sender connector in remote positions (about 6" of wire) 4. Yes so would be good to know where to check and what I should see Oil is definitely getting to the sender at the new remote position just not sure if its at any pressure New sender in standard position at the moment Andrew
  4. OK, so mounted it near steering rack using rubber lined p clip. before final routing of hoses I ran the engine - 0 shown on guage, so i piggybacked a wire from the now remote sender connection to the chassis (to earth it) and now guage shows 8 bar / maximum any ideas? Andrew
  5. Dave, I thought about that - not sure if it is too low down and in a perilous area hose kit comes with a P clip for the T piece which could mount where the horn is otherwise its a new hole somewhere unless I can spot another mounting point on the square chassis tube Im off to do some trial fitting
  6. Seems there are only a few options see pic attached Lowest one seems too near ground, so my favourite it the square tube I'll be properly trial fitting soon
  7. I may try some mocked up options tomorrow
  8. Any recommendations on best location? Anyone any decent pics of locations?
  9. I'd like to fit a warning light although tbh I think one may be fitted already (I have a red light between speedo and rev counter above the blue main beam light - though that could be an alternator warning light) Andrew
  10. A few questions to those that have successfully remote mounted the infamous electrical oil pressure sender for a K series..... What hose did you use to allow remote mounting, where did you get it fro and where/how did you mount the sender? TIA
  11. Not painting related but where was the bar from?
  12. Hi, Is there any interest or ability to try this again? Andrew
  13. What Golf Juliet Tang said........ Two buckles on mine were on the outside of the car, 5 minutes later they are now safely snuggled on the inside. No tools needed
  14. Great condition wheel (single) with 2000 vintage AO21 asking £45 - collection only (nr Tonbridge) pics available on request
  15. That is what i feared! the caps seem quite brittle ao I am worried about damaging them - also tried a couple with a driver - will have another go later - more brute force Assume replacements are relatively common and hopefully cheapish!
  16. Hi, feel a bit of a numpty but I had assumed the spark plug leads just pull straight up and off the plug but after a few minutes of serious pulling none of them seem to budge Is there a knack or are they stuck or am I missing something obvious? Andrew
  17. The plate was R300??? - I didn't catch the last three letters
  18. Just passed me going Tonbridge bound tonight - top job! Dark so am guessing the colour but assume an R300 due to R300??? plate I assume returning from monthly area meet (which I have failed to make so far!)
  19. Jonathan has this been compiled into a searchable list? - JUST SPOTTED IT IN THE THREAD! I have normal workshop tools (spanners, jacks, axle stands, brake bleeding kit....)nothing fancy but willing to share/lend based near Tonbridge/Sevenoaks Andrew
  20. Going into Tonbridge by Judd school - I was in DD so no wave! Hood up in this weather?

    Door storage

I screwed some old ikea glass shelf lugs to a cupboard I had - the lugs have holes in so the door hinge slots into them neatly Can't seem to rotate the last two pictures but left side is actually the top Andrew
  22. Jim thanks for getting the thread back on track! i have a single stripe which is quite reflective - so assume it's paint - it is edged by 4mm/2mm pin stripes how do I find the paint code? Although I will look at 3m vinyl colours to see if there is a close match Andrew
  23. I am guessing that as mine is a 1998 vintage the likelihood is it will be paint but I should be able to get a vinyl to match
