Interesting... there is a car on a thread on Piston heads at the moment registration KAR 120C in the states I think. It's a SLR/notanR500 ( you would have to read the thread but it's badged R500 but is apparently not. )

Thought I would try here first just in case...
in the course of sorting my late fathers garage I found a 14x7 Lotus wheel which as I recall came off an Elite 503.
I don't seem to be able to upload a picture but happy to email to anyone interested. Please note it's a tad tatty so needs a refurb.
free of charge to anyone who'd like it provided you collect from CB23 area.

Blimey that was quick Jonathan but as ever, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

I have followed with interest a couple of recent threads about helmets for competition and track days. It's clear a full face helmet is needed for both. But in my wider look at this I have come across Karting helmets. What is different about helmets made for karting and does such a design lend itself better to a 7 I wonder? Any advice gratefully received.

About 13:00 today approaching the roundabout at Biggleswade on the A1. Spotted initially by SWMBO. The colour looked great.

EVO magazine on-line have a H4 fit Halogen bulb test which makes interesting reading.

For those of us that may be considering such an upgrade, do the sites rules prevent naming the company in question?

Thanks Dave,.. good idea.

A fleeting glimpse on the outer ring road at Huntingdon Cambs in the afternoon as you passed the Audi garage and at the Ford round about. Must have been cold!

A chat with someone from a Caterham dealer with a tech manual in front of them gave rise to the following:
there is no difference in the dampers or springs between the S or R versions. The R however has wide track, adjustable ride height collars and a rear anti roll bar. Both cars have 150/170'lb front springs' ( couldn't work out why that variation was.) and progressive rear springs. Apparently therefore there should be no difference in ride quality. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
I believe I remain confused.
On another note in a different telephone conversation, ( there have been many recently) there appears to be a rumour that the Caterham 6 speed box is going to be dropped in favour of the Mazda 5 speed. Reliability issues were forwarded as a possible explanation. You heard it here first people.

Hi Simon,
you would suggest the S then and perhaps better dampers?
-
Hi Paul,
thats interesting.. a call to Simon at Meteor may be in order.
Andy,
Your experience is just the angle I am looking for. Why exactly do you say an S may be better for the road?

So.. it seems I may be able to return to the fold with plans afoot for another 7. I do have a question for the combined experience of BC. I am told that the R suspension has firmer springs and dampers than the S set up, but in reality, with road use only, what is the best option? My one ride in a Supersport suspended car left me thinking it was rather hard and uncomfortable. I also felt my Roadsport (S? Suspension) lacked a little on turn in. SWMBO has a back injury so ultimately comfort is important.
Any sage words of advice?
Cheers

Ultralight flywheel and clutch; F155 performance upgrade for Supersport 140

To be fair, I'm not sure there is much you can do to keep up with a Tesla. Autocar ran a 620R against a Tesla and it barely kept up from a standing start.
from what I have read, the F155 upgrade merely whets your appetite for the F175 and financially it's probably best to jump straight to the F175- it is highly regarded as indeed is all the work by Stuart at Premier Power.
