Looking at intercom systems to encourage trips out with Mrs M in the 7 and have seen several systems by Stilo which seems affordable and ideal for my usage. That said, I haven't heard of them before. Anyone got any knowledge or experience of these?

Chris, that's superb. Thank you. Just what I needed.

Great idea.... thanks JK

Various bits and bobs.... currently looking at the air box on a 360R Duratec. ( even I think the long screws look naff), coil cover fixings, mirrors, etc.

I apologise for this question. My excuse is I bought my 7 to drive and now I want to learn a bit more about working on it.
I know some of you guys who know one end of a spanner from another can do this with your eyes closed, but for a mere mortal like me it's practically rocket science: so.... how do I work out what size a bolt is? I've taken it out per se and want to replace it with a better quality/ lighter version in a non critical area. What size do I buy? Can I measure it with vernier calipers? If so where? Head? Thread? Is there an easier way? I note such measurements as M4 M6 etc.... but help!? ( sorry.. I am not very mechanically minded. )
thanks.

do you have any pictures?

Thanks all..
I will give CC a ring to see if I can ask them not to fit the mirrors. If that's not possible I now have a couple of good solutions.
cheers

Indeed they do, then fit the mirrors to side screens afterwards.

so, my factory build is finished and ready for IVA at CC. It's booked in for 30th July. ( can't wait!!)
One of the first jobs when I get it is to fit those nice mirror brackets that Ivan has sorted. Now, that potentially leaves me 4 holes, 2 each on both side screens when I remove the Standard CC mirrors fitted after the IVA. The burning question is... what do I use to cover these holes neatly that looks like proper job or do I ask CC not to fit the mirrors after the IVA so there are no holes in the first place? ( this option precludes the easy re fitment of the mirrors to the side screen if I wanted to which is highly unlikely but...)
I know this is what's known as a "first world problem" but it is part and parcel of owning a 7. Any suggestions?

Heading north from Papworth, Cambs on A1198 at about 06:10 this morning. Sounded great as you passed.

Looking great in the Grande arcade car park in Cambridge today about 11.15 am. Hope the shopping fitted.

Have a chat with Stuart at Premier Power. He is currently re-engineering and building a couple of CSR's. He may well be able to help or point you towards someone else who can.

The 125bhp engine is a fixed rather than a variable cam engine. As such, it cannot be upgraded to the 310 spec which is the variable cam engine upgraded from the 135bhp.( 270 engine) I looked into the cost of a complete new engine from CC a year or two back and it was over £6K then £1500 to upgrade to 310 spec which involves new cams, followers and springs plus a new ECU. Cost wise it would be better to speak to Stuart at Premier power about his F 155 upgrade.

has anyone fitted a central mirror to the scuttle as done with aero screens but retained the normal windscreen? I rather like the retro idea of it and indeed had one on my Westfield a few years back. Just wondered if it was possible/ viable with space etc..

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but.... it answers my questions but asks one other.... the sleeping mat idea, doesn't that lead to issues with retaining moisture if it gets wet?

When the track instructor said " brake into the corner to get some weight over the front wheels for turn in", John took him at his word and smashed the middle pedal as hard as he could. A week later and they still can't get him out.

Thanks. There will be a lot of sentimental value attached to this 7 for me.

I had a ride out with Stuart from PP in his F200. In the end I couldn't drive it because my legs are too short but I got a reasonable feel for it.
Basically it's mental. The power delivery is linear and smooth. It loves to rev and pulls harder up the rev range. It goes like stink. You will never want more and then there is the noise. OMG the noise is incredible. But ... and there is a but... I think it's more suited to the track than the road. It's an amazing bit of engineering but I do,think the F175 for the road is the better bet.
That said, why don't you speak to Stuart. He will chat for ages, and is a genuine lover of 7s. He will gladly give you a test drive both on the road and on track. He's one of the good guys and I can't recommend him enough.

SBFS half hood in almost new condition having been used once on a 2015 car and even then didn't get wet. Complete with fitting straps.
Fits a S3 with standard roll bar classed as H2 by SBFS. Only selling because my new 7 has a Track day roll bar.

Not unlike Schrodinger's cat perhaps.....

Some great advice thank you.
Its true, I have few tools. The CC supplied Draper tool kit seems to have everything I could need in one handy place. How does it rate as value for money?

hello all...
I am seeking recommendations for a low entry trolley jack for the 7 that is reasonable quality but not top of the range and hidelously expensive plus also a tool kit that will cover most of my needs. Lots available from DT and Clarkes/ machine mart but wanted some guidance if possible.
cheers
