  1. Yes, but I bought the RAC430 from Seven & Classics , Tim says he doesn't have an issue. I think he fits the MC version .
  2. Steve, Spoke to them and they were as helpful as a chocolate tea pot. I also asked if they had any pictures or diagrams ......nope. They are however swopping the unit for a MS version, like the Wasp. Jon
  3. There's two bolts, and if you remove the bolts you can revolve the flange by 180 degrees ... but it still doesnt fit due to the webbing of the engine. Unless I grind it down .
  4. Decided to fit a new starter motor and opted for the Powerlite . My 7 is a '96 Superlight and fitted the starter motor but unable to fit the manifolds back. Came with no intructions Many thanks Jonathan
  5. I sold a set of 5 for £180 a couple of months ago, again with the same tyres though they were more the 6 years old
  6. Thanks guys, TomB don't suppose you know the part number for the later starter motor
  7. My primary pipe that is closest to the bulkhead seems very close to the solenoid of the starter motor. Checking out other 7's there appears to be better clearance as the pipe has a better design . I've got a 4-1 collector outside the skin and all 4 primaries are not connected to each other .
  8. I'm after the copy that has the 6-7 Freestyle 7's Do you know what month/year the article appeared .
  9. So this is what I did. Replaced the existing 2mm cable from the relay to solenoid for 3 mm. The old cable insulation was burnt by the primaries. The new 3 mm cable protected by heat shield cable sheath. All old connectors replaced with new soldered connections. Primaries wrapped with heat tape and starter . Hope that should solve the issue
  10. As above I think I've got a FIA roll bar fitted, ( single diagonal bar ) and the Petty bar is mounted on the brace bar ( vertical ) . Other Petty bars seem to be mounted under the horizontal bar. Many thanks Jon

  13. Presume it'll fit a '98 S3 K series car - I've got one from a 1.6VX '97 car and it doesnt fit. Also do you have the brackets ? Many thanks Jon
  14. I'm on my third k engined 7 and the first two I had no issues but my Superlight ...... So I'm wondering what everyone else has done to prevent this . Will doing the relay mod solve the problem ? Has anyone fitted a Brice starter ? Has anyone heat shielded the solonoid, if so with what. Advice and tips please much apreciated . Thanks
  15. Jonathan Wasn't aware of cables that were 'heat proofed' dont suppose you know the supplier ? Re. removing the manifold. I mention it as a fellow 7 owner suggested it , though now confused why he would suggest it, if only to wrap in the manifold
  16. Anthony Many thanks for your reply . I think my current set up is the wiring is right next too the primary, hence when the engine is hot it won't start. Great idea about the string though I ordered the wiring before I read your reply. I'll order some heat protection sleeving. Cheerts JOn
  17. Many thanks Jonathan - I may just do that. I need to order some cable and I don't want to order 20 metres if I only need 2 .
  18. My 7 is suffering the k click . It already appears to have the relay mod but the wires used are not the right size, Does anyone know how much cable and what colours I need to order, I believe the size is 3mm . Also how hard is it to remove the manifold as I would like to re-rout/protect the cables with some thermal sleeve. Many thanks Jon
  19. Both are still for sale ...... The VX has great history with every race and practice recorded, 2 owners from new with only 9800 miles on the clock priced below market value at £9,999. The Superlight has known histtory from new, 4 owners and 35,000 miles . Unsure what the Ebay one went for, it wasn't sold for the hammer price, I think a deal was struck before the final bid. Oh and the tyres fitted to the Superlight has to be in the RAC 1a list of approved tyres , so no super sticky tyres ;-)
