I've just purchased a Superlight and I want to restore it back to how it left the factory. The previous owner had painted the carbon parts black and I'm removing the paint as the car originally had bare carbon. Unfortunately, the near side wing looks like it's been replaced by a copy so am looking for an original carbon wing fitted to a '96 7.

Cheers guys, Left the battery on charge and it started fine. Though it may be time for a new battery. Any recommendations ?

Just bought myself a 7 and it has the factory carbon wings and nose cone. The only issue is that they've been painted and there's a few stone chips that is now exposing the carbon. How easy is it to strip the paint off and then lacquer the carbon, the previous person had the carbon painted as he said the carbon faded in the sun. Jon

I've just got a car that has had little use for the last three years. The problem I've got is the starter motor seems as though it may be stuck. I hear a clicking sound from the direction of the starter motor when I turn on the ignition but nothing else. When I first got to drive the car the previous owner put the car in gear and rocked the car forward and back which seemed to release something and the starter motor worked, but since then it hasnt. Any advice would be most appreciated. Jon

Just sadly sold my 7 then 2 days later I went to Caterham "Get to Know Your car" and realised I'd just sold an ideal spec car minus the LSD and power. So my ideal spec car would need a LSD, and 150bhp + , the car I just sold also had ARB, adjustable bilsteins, wide track, cut out switch, and brake bias Jon

As the title says Looking to upgrade and seen these two up for sale on another site. Does anyone know if they genuine cars for sale ? 2006 Caterham 7 ex Acadamy race car. The car spent the first 3 years competing in selected races, as with most Acacdmy cars this was fastidiously maintained and professionally looked after by Trackcars. it then retired and stored. It was then converted to Roadsport spec complete with a respray in British Racing Green and yellow nose cone in 2012-13. Ian Payne sold the car to me in April 2014. The nosecone was then resprayed . I have a collection of Low Flying spanning from Dec/Jan 90/91 to Dec 2015 . Almost complete with the odd magazine missing. There's a total of 280 magazines ( Low Flying was sometimes published once every two months ) Spans the history of the 7 with road tests and interviews from people involved in the Club and Caterham. There are articles and guides on just about everything to do with the 7 including engine tuning, engine transplants, sprinting etc. Because this must be a quite unique collection I will not split.
