  1. That very useful thanks. I currently have a 3,9 LSD which i will keep long term. My 7 is super quick but super revvy! So the ford gearbox is the only option but with different innards to choose? i didn't realize I could choose different ratios? i have dva k with 205bhp, probably too much
  2. Hi I have the 6 speed and am thinking I really should change to the 5 speed. I love the 6 speed for the Sunday morning blat (trackdays are now in my past) so much but as I get older also love touring in my 7 too so the 5 speed would probably be the better option. Is my only option the ford? I have a K series? Could I have a Mazda box which I hear so many great things about. The 6 speed is electric, I don't want to miss it too much! Cheers, Julian
  3. Perfect, I think I am sorted now. Malcolm, for the noise
  4. Hi That is what I have. I want to remove it Cheers
  5. Hi i have a K series with Jenvey ITBs. Is there an air filter available now that works with the standard fuel rail? Thanks
  6. Great thanks! Ill update with progress.
  7. Hi Appreciate recommendations for fuel tank testing and repairs preferably in East Sussex/Kent please Thanks, Julian
  8. About 5 went past the Hawkhurst Fisheries @ around 9am We were in there having breakfast.
  9. I have some Andrew. Used for less than 6 months before I upgraded to 285’s
  10. DIY IMO too. Such an easy installation. Wire it straight to the battery - with inline fuse - use it to charge your battery too.
  11. Re the wiper splines, I put PTFE tape on mine. Same with removable steering wheel which I don’t remove very often. Feels so much better to drive without the play!
  12. Green and yellow Q plate. Heading south on London Road into Uckfield 6pm Saturday 17/4 I flashed you, from our Red VW Up and waved. I think you saw us? Lovely day to be in the Seven Cheers, Julian ps. Are you local? PM me if you like.
  13. All done, thanks for the advice.
  14. Awesome, thanks RS06! everything I need to know!
  15. Hi Tomorrow I plan to do a brake fluid change. I understand it is recommended to start from furthest away from the cylinder and work towards the closest. What is the correct sequence please? Thanks, Julian
  16. Hi Terry Not that I can offer you any advice/experiences, bt delighted to see you back in a 7
  17. Hi No matter what I do, it makes no difference, still faulty. BTW, the mileage is not 77,967 or 22,967, it’s probably around 35k Bizzare! I don’t think I feel inclined to buy another one of the speedos, my car has had 2 already. I think next time I’d like to buy something better quality?
  18. Hi The trip reading is fine which makes me suspicious that this cannt be repaired. My next post may be, what new speedos are a direct replacement for this one! Lets see....
  19. Hi Thanks K7, I now have a few recommendations to follow up. It has also have been suggested that I try running the speedo through the programming mode which I have done. All the numbers are displayed perfectly, then it reverts to the fractured mileage display :-( Julian
  20. Hi The mileage display on my speedo is not working correctly, with incorrect / incomplete / missing numbers. Is it possible to have the unit repaired rather that replaced, assuming the correct milage is somewhere in the electronics inside and it is only the display requiring replacement? Its this one. Thx
  21. Hi Somewhat belatedly, I thought it would be useful to post the outcome. The nice chaps at PGM did my cambelt / tensioner for me. Whilst I don't have enough knowledge to be sure about the reasons for the noise I suspect when my head gasket was replaced, the old cambelt was over tightened. It got hot in use and stretched slightly. New cambelt and tensioner installed correctly, noise went away! Engine now sounds perfect and back to being thrashed to 8k as normal :-) Gary, sorry I didn't think to ask to keep the old parts! It would have been useful. J
  22. Hi Thankyou for the enlightenment everyone. Certainly an unexpected complication. Cheers, Julian
  23. Hello Ian I hope not, the cams were timed with a previous belt that was apparently fine. Its just this one. Julian
  24. Hi Andy Thanks for your reply and checking my recordings and your spare engine. I too am pretty sure the noise is from the belt itself. I wonder if it is slightly faulty or contaminated. It is a Gates Powergrip. I am going to replace it. Is it good practice to replace the [manual] tensioner too? Julian
