  1. I was in the blue Seven with Aero going the other way. We exchanged
  2. The new design Soft Bits 1/2 hood with the rigid rear bar is very nice. Worth looking at before you make any decision IMO.
  3. It depends on the rating of the day. Find a track day near you and pop down to get a noise test for an idea on what yours is like. Even atmospheric conditions on the day will have an effect so its not a given that every day your car will hit the same target.
  4. Heading south on the Piddinghoe Road, making good progress Super day for a blat I flashed from my white Polo Julian
  5. Hi Brad, welcome If Cadwell is too far try Lotus On Track at Goodwood. Not an ideal Seven circuit but flowing and highly satisfying once you get the lines right. Super place to be too. Julian
  6. I only recently read about it but I cant find it now for the life of me! Sorry.
  7. I have just done same install. You could make an adaptor plate as Oilys site. I will eventually replace the hose though. Will look a lot nicer.
  8. Hi Went out for a quick run this afternoon post Mothers Day obligations and the balance is a lot nicer, I tried heavy braking a few times and its planted, no lurch to the front and lockup. Very, very pleased. Still not hot like you say though. When I have been out for a longer blat I will check the temperature. Thanks, J
  9. Saturday 5/3/16 update Spent the whole day at Partridge Green Motorsport with Andy. Had Melody flatfloored, wheels aligned [included in flat floor], new rear brake pads [Mintex 1144] to balance out my front end lockup concern, and repacking my front hubs with grease. Those that know Andy will appreciate his experience, attention to detail and care Sevens receive when they visit him for some work. My drive home was completely transformed compared to the outbound journey, and my car was nicer than a couple of others I had driven already. Also, the first opportunity for a weigh in. 499.5kg including about 15ltrs of fuel. I am very happy with that

And you too Phil. My drive home was just a bit different to the outbound journey! Look forward to seeing you sometime in your SL20
  11. I don't know if the rears get hot, not sure how to tell. They have never locked. It struck me that the car was not ideally balanced under heavy braking, today I have had a FF session and new rear pads [Mintex 1144] fitted and on the way home my cars balance under heavy braking is hugely better.
  12. Hi That sounds interesting. It is always the front that locks up first. I am having a FF session on Saturday which may change that balance but I am interested to consider new pads. Honestly I dont know 100% what ones I have but I strongly suspect they are original standard ones since all the work done on my car before I got it was done at Caterham
  13. I have heard exactly those comments before. I don't want to change for the sake of it, only if my driving experience is enhanced, initially it seems not! I drove the demo Zenos which had a big brake cylinder which I was not too keen on due to brake pedal feel. I know some other Seven owners who prefer the big MC though which prompted my question. Perhaps I should just consider the pads next time they require changing?
  14. I have the big brakes set from CC with normal pads and standard master cylinder. I have driven a few Sevens now but none have had the larger master cylinder and I assume normal pads but I could not be sure. Although I drive “spiritedly” on the road when appropriate, I seem to be able to lock up quickly enough suggesting my tyres [ZZR and ZZS] typical running temperatures are not going to allow me to benefit from any brake performance enhancement. Or am I missing the point? I only intend doing a few track days each year.
  15. Look mate, what I do in my garage is MY business
  16. Sensor fitting done. Coolant topped up, garage looked like a scene from Casualty with hose and funnel being suspended from the roof whilst I massaged my hoses
  17. Excellent thanks. I have both, good call on the earth contact Ian!
  18. Hi My sender arrived yesterday thx to Redline. Do I use anything on the thread to seal it? PTFE tape?
  19. Its one of Oilys K16 heads with 29.5/26 valves
  20. Yes, loads, but I did Jenveys and Emerald at the same time!
  21. You know me Deej, suffering for my Seven! I was freezing.
  22. 1.1/2" or 1.3/4" matters not, neither will protect you from the wildlife
  23. Yes, its all ok I hope thanks. There aren't too many corner shops around these days are there?
  24. Thankyou for the reassurance guys. I guess the coincidence with my TB installation drove my insecurity about an airlock! Redline in the morning!
  25. 285's, already installed.
