Saw your video last night Rob but didn't clock it as you. It makes your car look very oorange. GOOD skills sir, and great to share a garage with you hope to see you on some more next year. Fingers crossed for a dry day next week for my last track outing of the year at Bedford as I've had a 100% wet record this year. First outing for my new lsd too. Impressions. Much louder on the road a lot more transmission noise On the track, really liked it. More predictable, less snappy. Even though the wet isn't my favourite I quite enjoyed the day and trying out the different lines. Thanks again Simon for organising it. Doug

Ive just spoken to Footman James to add Hethel and they told me they have abolished the 48 hour notice period. you can now call the day before or even on the day. That makes a refreshing change.

A big thanks to Dave, James, Simon and anyone else involved in organising yesterdays Oulton Park day. It was well worth the 540 mile round trip (no trailers here) Great evening the night before too. I took lots of footage, so if you arent on this one and want to see yourself let me know and ill upload some more. one to tick off the bucket list. Booked it a couple of years ago with Magnatude events, but then the day was called off. Lotus apparently canceling all track days?????? hmmmm did get a refund mind you. Anyhow, importantly booked now.

Looks like a great selection of tracks, especially the double header. is there any reason Anglesey is at the rainy end of the year. As someone who drives to all the tracks, the chances of a washout or even damp is significant which is enough to put me off booking with the club and searching out a summer session. I've had more than my fair share of wet Mountain biking weekends in Wales, when the rest of the country is dry, to make an 8 hr drive with possible rain a real downer. Would love to see it in June, July or August but appreciate I'm probably one of a few people who might book coming from Kent.

Just to add my thanks to James and Dave for organising this little lot, some great tracks and i know how much effort this stuff takes so hats off to you both. i didnt think id enjoy Silverstone as much as i did, but im itching to go back, so that gets my vote for next year. Oulton park was awesome too, and the 300 odd miles to get there made it a very memorable road trip. looking forward to seeing whats on next years list. thanks Doug

have you managed to test the mirrors yet, id be interested to hear how you got on with them. Also the brackets look great, where did you get them from? thanks Doug

im in the process of fitting a carbon aero i picked up from ebay, and am using the rataining channels from kitcar direct. id imagined these were caterham parts but when they arrived it was clear they weren't. They had the look of made in the garage about them. anyhow i figured as long as the do the job, no one will ever see them. I got them in, although undoing the chassis bolts was a mission. Not enough clearance to get a socket set in there. Once in place i noticed the holes in the bracket were about 3mm too high on both sides. I could file out the holes but this would mean when i put the screen back there will be a gap under it. I also offered up the aero, and it had a pair of existing mounting holes. these lined up perfectly with the holes in the scuttle but not the retaining brackets. Does anyone have a pair of Caterham ones they could measure the height of the holes from the bottom of the bracket. I clearly looks like the brackets are wrong, but id like to be sure. The centre of the holes on the ones i have are 36mm from the bottom of the bracket. thanks

Firstly a massive thanks to Dave and James for organising the day. Dave i hope you get the engine sorted without making too big a hole in your pocket, i really felt for you, and having to leave early, such an arse. Also to the couple in their red clamshell 7 who had gearbox issues, i hope you got back ok. But wow what a cracking track, id watched some video before booking and made up my mind that i had to try it, but driving it was awesome. I opted for some instruction which was great, although the intercom packed up and i pushed on a bit too hard too soon, at Cascades resulting in a half decent spin. I think i might have collected the apex cone in the process, sorry chaps. Ive uploaded some video from the last session, and the driving standard for the whole day was impeccable with a really friendly atmosphere on and off the track and the night before gathering too.

What a whopper of a circuit, so much to learn, but loved every minute of it. Great pit company and really excellent driving standards. Thanks to Dave and James for organising such a great day, and getting rid of the fog for some welcome sunshine. The 620 passenger laps were fantastic, thanks Caterham, long live the drift. Ive uploaded a bit of footage from later in the day but cant wait to get there again.

I looking for a original Caterham carbon Aeroscreen with or without mirrors, as ive booked into Silverstone for the first outing of the year and will need the extra top end.

With my wife away visiting her mum in france, i had a weekend free, a bank holiday weekend nontheless. so there was only one thing for it..... book another track day. i plumped on Bedford, as although there wasn't much choice its an epic circuit at 3.8 miles long, and really rewarding once you've learnt it enough to start attacking the corners. i headed up from Kent on sunday and stayed at the Sharnbrook hotel, a few miles down the road. i invited my brother along to share the day and kept my fingers crossed for a dry day having got caught in a couple of heavy downpours on the way up. on the day there was quite a mix of exotica. 6 or 7 caterhams, porsche 911's or various guises, a smattering of racing clio's, elises and a ktm crossbow to name a few. the driving standards were very good, even the M2 and M4 drivers backing off on the straight to let me through. all in all a cracking day, and although the track is pretty flat, the sheer size and number of corners make it a great venue. its also one of the safest tracks due to the huge run-off's. ive posted a couple of vids, one of me (white gloves) and one of my brother (blue gloves)

Ive now completed the conversion, here's how it went. I decided i wanted a braided hose rather than plastic, so threaded some mains flex through the hole at the front of the tunnel and routed it to the sender. Rather than coiling a load of slack i wanted an exact fit. The length was 1665mm. I ordered the bits from Merlin Motorsport yesterday lunchtime, and they arrived today :) they also made up the hose to length. the bits were as follows: 1 x adaptor M12x1.5 x 1/8BSP Goodridge Stainless steel braid hose with fittings 1 x racetech 100 PSI oil pressure gauge ​My first choice was the stack gauge, but apparently this needs an additional adaptor, so i went for simplicity. The one thing id say about the Racetech gauge is its quite heavy compared to the original caterham and a touch on the agricultural side. Once fitted its fine. talking of weight, i weighed the hose out of interest and its 150g. Then it was on to fitting. I threaded the hose through and put some PTFE tape around both threads on the adaptor. With the front jacked up, i threw an old baby top and tail wash tub under the old sensor to catch the oil (i knew it would come in handy) One tip before you remove the old sender, have all the bits to hand so you limit the oil loss. the adaptor came with a small gasket that went into the hose, and i took the old copper washer off the original sender and slid it on the M12 end of the adaptor. After tightening it all up it was in with the gauge. I didnt bother rewiring the light, but just used the old one, as its a straight swap. with everthing in place i fired it up and was pleased to see it working. 60-65psi on idle. Turning the engine off i checked for leaks, and i bloody had one. tightening up the adaptor didnt stop it so i have to undo everything again. the problem was the original sender has a large flat surface so the washer has plenty to seal on. with an adaptor it floats around a bit, so is difficult to centre. what i needed was a better fitting washer. With Halford shut and itchy fingers i went about making one from a bit of flattened copper pipe, a hole cutter, 10mm drill and a file. 10 mins later i had a perfectly fitting washer. im not sure if there is one available for the adaptor, but doing it again id ask for one. this is the washer that came off the old sender the finished item, before i cable tied the hose and old lead away And one of the fittied gauge A satisfying job, although would have been a lot quicker if id got a copper washer for the adaptor.

Ive just spoken to Merlin motorsport who say they can make up a braided hose to a length i give them, provide the gauge and adaptor nut all for £74 + vat ill probably go for the stack gauge, but will list all the parts once ive done it.

I'm trying to source a replacement oil pressure sender for my 1.8 vvc k series, but am struggling to find one. Both caterham and redline are out of stock, and although I'm pretty sure it's at fault I'm desperate to get one before next weekend as I'm planning to drive to goodwood again. does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative supplier? thanks

ive finally got round to putting some video of the day up. i was having sooooo much fun i forgot to get any footage of myself, but did get plenty of my brother driving my car.
