Benton
How to install channels For the heated screen I extended the cables from below the scuttle and use bullet connectors to easily connect/disconnect
DirtBuddha
I swapped my windscreen to an aeroscreen for the first trackday I did in my first Caterham. Some years and 3 Caterhams later and I've yet to go back to a windscreen. Full aero - full time. Anything less dilutes the experience - why would you want to do that???? ! 😆
Graham Hutton
Good shout on the heated windscreen cables. I’ll do something similar too. Thanks
Graham Hutton
The retaining channels are out of stock on the Caterham website so will have to wait. It doesn’t specify if they are different for the SV chassis relative to the S3. Anyone know the answer to that? I have an SV.
MJH333
Graham, Turn 7 recently did a YouTube video about aero screen fitting. I think they discuss the retaining channels. https://youtu.be/R9qkqxHmkTQ?si=kjkXexrJ6Tg0quEZ Cheers, Mark EDIT Just noticed that Benton has already linked this video. Oops. I'm unsure, so let me know how you get on without. I am a bit worried that the mirror on the post will really get in the way of my eyeline. Agree centre mirror would significantly effect my view also. When running with a full windscreen I rarely used the rear view mirror anyway as all it seemed to successfully do was give me a nice view of the X brace of the fia roll bar… Found myself just using the side mirrors anyway, so that’s all I opted for with this. Mirrors seem to give a nice field of view from my limited testing sat in it inside the garage making racing car noises.
Graham Hutton
Thanks Colin, glad I'm not the only one to make broom broom noises in the garage!
Apothecary
Hi, I’m now looking at Aeroscreen options myself. Can anyone who has recently fitted the Meteor clear screen confirm what drilling is required (not including mirrors as I will be attaching those to the track day cage). Is it just the two holes in the bracket for the two poppers or do you also have to drill the screen itself to attach the central bracket to it? I used to have a RIF carbon screen, with my old CSR, and I’m familiar with the Caterham version, but not this clear screen. thanks,
Dave Hardcastle
The aeroscreen comes without any mounting holes. You will need to drill a single hole each side of the screen to attach to the car where the normal screen bolts, and also in the centre for the bracket poppers or bolts. I have the latter. Graham Hutton
I fitted the meteor screen successfully but take care with the drilling. I was advised to use some wd40 on a slow drill bit and that worked really well. Lots of masking tape, loads of measuring and checking before drilling of course. I can sell you some black rubbery plastic caps for your windscreen wipers (as seen on Graham's car). or just use some finger puppets like I do 😄

Graham Hutton
So, I had my first run out with the aero screen at the weekend.......... Hell of a lot quicker isn't it!! The shift light comes on before you know it 🙂 I quite like driving it with my hemet on the road too and the meteor motorsport aeroscreen with BigCols old mirrors works a treat. Andrew Bennett
This is mine I have just fitted. I needed to adjust the angle of the centre bracket. Simon (Meteor) suggested using a hair dryer but that didn’t work but boiling water did. I don’t have centre poppers so have used Velcro for now until I get brave enough to install rivnuts. Graham Hutton
Excellent! Did you enjoy driving it too? I haven't gone for a centre mirror yet but after my first drive I was unsure about whether I needed it or not. Still pondering that one.

First run out will likely be track day at Snetterton on 14th. Not sure whether I will keep aeroscreen on for the road as I don’t want to wear a crash helmet other than on a track. graearea
you can stash the aero in the car and drive with a screen. I won't be driving my aero on the road again after my last trackday. 12hrs in a full face lid is too much.
