  1. Go at a pace you are comfortable with. It’s not a race and if anybody has a problem with how slow they think you are driving it’s their problem not yours. Also stay hydrated and don’t feel you have to spend lap after lap pounding around. It’s tiring. Finally, don’t put the handbrake on when you come back into the pits. Just chock the wheels if necessary.
  2. If you are still having a problem post a picture of how the clips are fitted.
  3. I installed these at the weekend. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304860958864?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nbUfGDNkSn2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=m7NV-5oRR3q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY very easy to fit. Did both in about 30 minutes. I previously had the Cafe Racers on a previous car and these seem identical at a fraction of the price.
  4. I’m also looking if anybody also has another set to sell. Obviously Steve has first dibs. not concerned about condition as long as structurally sound. Will also take 6 and 7 inch as an alternative.
  5. Bright red with clamshell wings. I was in the Blue Caterham that waved back.
  6. My wet sumped Sigma struggles to get above 80C. Even on track. At Goodwood last weekend might have touched 90C briefly.
  7. Has anybody got a Sigma decat pipe for sale? thanks
  8. I do I think as I replaced mine with a dual spa gauge. I’ll have a look in the garage.
  9. Not tried it yet. First run out will likely be track day at Snetterton on 14th. Not sure whether I will keep aeroscreen on for the road as I don’t want to wear a crash helmet other than on a track.
  10. This is mine I have just fitted. I needed to adjust the angle of the centre bracket. Simon (Meteor) suggested using a hair dryer but that didn’t work but boiling water did. I don’t have centre poppers so have used Velcro for now until I get brave enough to install rivnuts.
  11. Nothing significant. Probably a bit more above 6,000 RPM. I put up with that rather than the annoying rattle I had when accelerating.
  12. I took the airbox off and you can see where it has been rubbing against the bulkhead. replaced with the mod specified by W33SVN. Apologies for the garish blue hose. I clicked the wrong option when buying. Rattle now gone.
  13. How much should the airbox move on a Sigma supersport (the one with the cold air intake)? I noticed a rattle on mine when accelerating which i think was the airbox vibrating against the battery retention bracket and bulkhead. I have put rubber between it and the battery & bulkhead which has deadened the noise but wondered if it should be moving as much as it does. It is mounted on three rubber bungs which flex quite a lot. TADTS?
  14. No I got the sump plug from Demon Tweeks. Thanks for the advice. Everyday is a school day owning a Caterham!
  15. Brilliant thanks. So this is the sender that came with the gauge. Documentation says it is 1/8 NPT but it wont fit into a 1/8 NPT sump plug.
  16. No idea what the part number of the sender is as it came with the gauge already attached to the loom. If I could work out how to post a photo I would post a picture of it.
  17. Correct it screws in about two thirds. It doesn't appear to have a tapered thread although the diagram on the instructions seems to show a taper.
  18. Has anybody installed one and if so can they confirm what the thread is on the temperature sender? The instructions say 1/8 npt but I'm not convinced as it doesn't seat into a sump plug with a 1/8 npt female.
  19. Well it was solved for about an hour! Problem has reoccurred.
  20. Turns out the Hydraulic Control Unit piston was stuck. This has been freed up and is now, apparently, running OK. I am off to pick it up tomorrow. I've learnt a lot about the VVC mechanism through this problem and big thanks to Andrew R who has given lots of good advice and gone out of his way to help.
  21. update. Car is back with GP7. Solenoids replaced and wiring checked. So that's the two easy bits done but problem remains. ECU now been sent to Kmaps to be checked and if that proves to be OK they will start checking the VVC itself.
