OK, try this.... We all pair up making sure your paired up buddy lives the opposite end of the country, and swap numbers. You drive around with their number on your car and when their fine lands on your door mat you simply make sure you have your correct plate back on the car and return the fine with your valid alibi for that day.

OK, I admit it. I'm bored.

Hello Fast Arnie,

Regard's the '92 Caterham details ending up on a 6o's Triumph log book, would you care to elucidate, expand even? Let me assure you that I'm not plod in disguise but a 7 owner who'd love to sport white lettering on the grill of his car...

Ok,

The Seven was new and unreg.

The Herald was scrapped 5 years earlier but the DVLA were told the car had not had MOT or TAX as it had beed used for Hillclimbing, and now contained a Ford Crossflow, Ital Axle and Escort Gearbox!!!!

The Seven body was just a new body to which all the parts would fit as the Herald had recently been crashed and the shell damaged beyond repair.

So the Engine Gearbox etc had all beed fitted to the Seven (All these bits were actually brand new) and here I am Mr DVLA Inspector take a look!
