  7. Just keep it at 5,000 rpm and stall it when the traffic begins to move. Works every time and confuses the pedestrians. Andy
  8. Dymags aren't much more expensive than the Barnby jobs ... way to go. Andy
  9. "When you think about it for such a light car do you really need large venting discs, especially when the existing discs are stuck in the air stream anyhow." No. Alcons = MUCH Less weight (+ Magnesium wheels? the way to go), less cost, less hassle fitting. Jimmy the Fish has sussed it. Do you sprint or hillclimb? Do you drive in the real world? Then you DON'T need vented disks... or do you go to work down an alpine pass? No contest. Andy
  10. Chutney - yu woz robbed!smile.gif Andy
  11. I thought of that too Ellie! smile.gif Take a look at Low Flying Jan 1998 front page for a piccie of my ex in the correct Lotus colours! Andy

  13. I've got a lead-steel case, tractor internals - how can you guys refuse my offer? Andy
  14. Actually no. I bought some beauties and fitted them to the BDG when I had it - bought them in a shop in Ware, Herts, near Dick Dixon's gaff. I think they had sussed they could sell to Europe. Used for serious BHP motors in the states so I assumed they would be strong enough... (famous last words) smile.gif Red ones on BRG Dymags, looked very good. Andy
  15. You can also buy red or blue American made anodised nuts from specialist hotrod shops. Andy
  16. Thanks Tim for the excellent quality photo - I tried replying but your (I think NTL?) e-mail id kept getting bounced. Andy

  18. Stainless steel looks great for about 10 minutes then goes naff as it heats up. I would be interested in seeing what the ceramic coating option looks like if anyone can post it. Andy

On the subject of poppers you can pop into any haberdashery shop and buy popper kits (for refurbishment purposes.) Andy
  21. Thanks everyone - Alex, on balance looks like your's is the way Ross should go then - cheers. Andy
  22. Thanks Gary - sizing wheels and tyres has always been a bit of a mystery to me. I know some people have, I think, 205's all round on 6x13's and swear by them. I wonder if the susp. could be adjusted to counteract the oversteer? Or did you play with tyre pressures to lessen the flex and oversteer? But you are saying it's flex causing the o/s - then you have the problem of getting the tyres warm enough in sprints if you go wider? That's why I've always wondered about going as wide as the 8.0's and 8.5's on the R500 for sprinting/hillclimbs. Andy
