L66TEY
Hoping someone could assist with finding the source for the carbon nose cone "scoops" seen on "R4 HUN" at the Caterham Crawley Open Day last April? With thanksChris
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 29, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted January 29, 2023 I spoke to the original owner many years ago at Oulton Park soon after he'd fitted them, from memory they were supplied by Reverie. A quick search of the Reverie site brings up these which might be suitable: https://www.reverie.ltd.uk/air-intakeinlet-pipe-58mm-90deg-elbow-outlet-carbon-fibre/R01SE0057Stu. ScottR400D
My first thought there was Shrek! My second was why would you ruin the side panels with them?

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 29, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted January 29, 2023 They fit with the R500K Caterham airbox which has 4 lengths of hose running down to a large intake box mounted below the nose cone, this was an alternative to reposition the intake. If I recall correctly this car is a very well specified R400.
7 wonders of the world
why not run a half under tray and use NACA type small duct form this - Ihave loked at this for fresh air that can be ducted directly thro an oil cooler.
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted January 29, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted January 29, 2023 Is there no room on either side of the radiator (as there is on a Crossflow engined car)?I'd agree with ScottR400 it isn't aesthetically pleasing. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 29, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted January 29, 2023 There's plenty of non-aesthetically pleasing Sevens Stephen, in the flesh this is not one of them. It wouldn't be my choice of a modification but there's plenty of well trodden mods I'd reject first.Stu.
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted January 29, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted January 29, 2023 plenty of non-aesthetically pleasing SevensIndeed, Arnie's dusbin sized airscoop attached to the bonnet amongst them. That was considerably uglier than this and as ostentatious as you would expect from him.
