Spring Rates

Out of interest does anyone know if the damper spring rates are different on an SV from an S3, OE?

All other things being equal of course, eg a 420R SV v S3.  

...and if not, should they be?

I looked at buying a set of second hand Bilstein SV dampers / springs for my S3 - when I researched further the spring part numbers were different to the S3s so I didn't proceed.

On my SV, I changed the front springs from 150 to 250 then 300lb units. Rears now 185lb. Smooths out the bumps a treat and helps keep the sump off the road 8n dips.

#2 I suspected something like that! 

There was an opportunity for a set of little used adjustable dampers off an S3, which raised the question would they go in my SV. They've been sold now so it's academic. 

I've looked on the CC site and there's little way to understand the range of dampers and springs because they all lack any kind of detailed description.

I had mine refurbed at Bilstein in Leicester - exellent service - was £85 per unit plus any items that needed replacing (I had one rod changed). I only live 20mins away from them so very convenient.
