PEC
Good Afternoon,I am looking for a self service garage in the South East (I live in Kent) that you would recommend.I have seen Pit Start garage which looks interesting but they seem to have only 2 posts lifts. Is it possible to access the two front and rear jacking points of a Caterham with two post lifts, since most cars have four "lateral" jacking points and the lifts must be made for them? Is a ramp lift absolutely necessary if you don't want to use axle stands?Same question for an MOT place which understands what a Caterham is.Thank you very much

Nigel Fox
I use a two post lift.Lift on the bottom longitudinal chassis rail, at the front just behind the engine mounts, at the back level with the front edges of the rear wing. I lift the back of the car with a trolley jack first to get the rear pads of the 2 post lift in place.
PEC
Thank you very much for your kind and precise answers. I am tempted to go to Pitstart garage then, unless someone suggests a better place for a self service garage in the South East, ideally in Kent.Any personal experience of that sort of garage or recommendation?Again, many thanks. SM25T
Isn't a self service garage called home ?
rj
Depending on the lift you may have to reverse in as the front arms may not reach the narrower front end of the chassis. I have a Maha 3t 2post lift and sometimes I reverse in, on other ocations I swap the arms on the lift
