  1. Are the aeroscreen and spa mirrors still available for sale? I sent you a private message.
  2. Thank you very much to all who responded
  3. Thank you for your respective replies. The idea is to match the half doors to an aeroscreen, not the existing widnscreen. I am contemplating soft bit for sevens half doors and my car is an S3. I would like to use the existing poppers which are above the rear wheel arch but will definitely need to drill some more at the front and maybe also below the seal. An alternative might be to fit some armrests to the half doors but I am not sure this is possible and I would still need to drill at the front.

    Aeroscreen Visibility

Thank you all for your very encouraging replies!
  5. Dear All, I am contemplating to install half-doors. A quick review of the current situation of poppers around the "door frame" show that there are poppers only at the back (see pictures). Nothing near the windscreen, nothing under the seal. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that my full doors have armrests but, anyway, this is the situation. With the prospect of fitting new poppers, I guess drilling might be required. Can someone point me to a video or a photo book where the various steps and tools clearly appear for installing poppers directly on the car's skin? Thank you very much
  6. Dear All, I am thinking about buying an aeroscreen but would like to have a good visibility on all my wheels when on track. I am 5'7" tall and drive a metric S3 wih lowered floor on the driver's side. Any suggestion from people with a similar car/driver profile? Thank you very much
  7. 4 tyres for sale. 2 still with decent tread at £ 20 each, 1 close to road legal at £ 15 and 1 below road legal at £ 5. £ 55 for the entire set of 4 tyres. Would make an ideal set on a car for winter storage purposes. On site collection in Kent or postage. Please contact me for more details.
  8. Used but good condition. All fittings included. £ 30 + postage (currently £ 3.42 with Yodel/£ 4.44 with Evri and £4.20 with Fedex) Feel free to let me know your favourite parcel company. Will be delivered in carton box.

    Nankang NS2-R

I am looking for some feedback about this tyre, possibly in 13" profile. I would have a mix road and track use of it. Former reports pointed to the fact that it was a good tyre on track but very slow to warm up. Well, how slow? Does it take one lap at sensible speed or a full 20 minutes session at less sensible speed, therefore a dangerous session if the tyres remain cold? As for the wet drive on the road, it's hard to know from previous feedbacks whether the tyres are excellent or very slippery (again maybe a matter of temperature?). Thank you very much
  10. Used but good condition. All fittings included. £ 30 + postage (currently £ 2.45 with Yodel/£ 4.43 with Evri and £6.09 with UPS) Feel free to let me know your favourite parcel company. Will be delivered in carton box.
  11. Dear All, Would anyone be selling a 4 point Luke Harness with pull-up setting on the waist and pull-down setting on the shoulders? Open to many (not all) colours. Needs to be in good condition and clean but not necessarily the latest model since this is for road and track days, not racing. Thank you
  12. Dear All, I am unable to find a web link which would help me answer the following question. While you can find all sorts of advice to clean your engine bay for any type of car, no one tells you where you should be doing that in the UK. I went recently to a self jet wash centre and was told that the power of their jet wash was too high not to risk damaging parts. I thought I could do the cleaning myself. Doing it in my driveway is not very encouraging from a pollution perspective because all the grease would go first in my driveway then in the street. Can anyone suggest a place where it could be done by oneself but with the minimal pollution to the local environment? Thank you
  13. Dear All, I am quite sure this is not a new thread I am starting but wanted to know the latest about an alternative to Avon ZZS on 13" wheels for a 50/50 mix of road and track use. I am also looking for decent holding in the wet. Can you be kind enough to mention the front and rear sizes of the tyres when citing alternatives (if there is any good alternative to the Avons ZZS...). Thank you very much
  14. Spark plugs changed. Many thanks to everyone for their help.
  15. Thank you very much for yor help. It all went well without bothering about the Apollo.
  16. Dear All, I have an Apollo tank on my 1.6 k series engine and intend to drain the engine for an oil change. Is it absolutely necessary to drain the Apollo in addition to unscrewing the sump plug? I was asking this because I have the impression that the sump plug was lower than the drain plug of the Apollo and that gravity could nicely do the job of emptying the full 7.5 litres. I would like to avoid having to open the Apollo because I won't be getting any assistance in holding the body of the Apollo untwisted while I try to unscrew the apparently very reluctant plug at the bottom of it. I will still change the oil filter anyway! Many thanks
  17. Looking to have replacement split pins for front wheel bearings but not sure of the size before tackling the job. I read somewhere it was 3/16 X2 " Is this correct? My car is a 2001 S3. Thank you very much
  18. Thank you very much. I can read the "Toolzone" brand on the tool. Would you have the precise reference of it? Did you cut the allen key?
  19. Dear All, Apart from shortening the short end of an existing key to less than 15 mm, would anyone have an "easy" solution, the ideal being an off the shelf product, probably with a specialist tool maker? Thank you very much
  20. Item was finally returned to SGS Engineering, under 60 days price refund guarantee. Thank you for your interest.
  21. No distributor in sight so sounds like an EU3. Any recommendation then as for the spark plug model and the long reach socket diameter? Any other general (or even detailed!) advice on how to change the spark plugs is very welcome. I still remember the nightmares of breaking/ overtightening spark plugs on engines when I was a student. Have not tried since then, which is therefore ages ago.... Many thanks, including to the link for EU2/EU3 identification
  22. Dear All, Can you kindly help me in finding out how to identify whether my Caterham 1.6 k series engine is EU2 and EU3? Can also someone be very specific on the consequences it may have on the diameter of the long reach socket used to change the spark plugs? What is also the recommended model of spark plugs for EU2 or EU3? Usage is a balanced blend of touring and track days. Thank you very much
  23. Dear All, Can someone give me the proper product references for a K&N filter replacement to the original cylindrical one fitted by Caterham which lays, very tired, into my engine bay? Also are there any items needed for the K&N fixing which would need to be added on top of what K&N would deliver (screw, etc...)? Engine is standard 1.6 k series year 2001. Thank you
  24. Parcel cost is around £ 31 at the moment. This is the price I would need to pay to either return it to SGS or send it to someone who would have bought it from me. The more it goes the more the only win/win situation, if I don't return the item t,o SGS within the 60 days, is that someone in the geographic area I previously mentioned be happy that I deliver to him or come and collect if this is his preferred option. He would save on SGS current price and I would recover more than if I sent it back to SGS.. Provided of course that the buyer is happy that, for this lower price, he looses the warranty and 60 day money back ( which does not include return shipping.cost). I hope this clarifies the situation. In short, it may be simpler to say that if you are in the Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells/Sevenoaks area and interested into buying this item, feel free to send me a PM Many thanks
