Recommended Tyres

I am interested in any suggestions for replacement tyres for my standard 270S running on standard 14 inch Rims. It came from Caterham in kit form with Avon ZT5's. 

I use the car mainly on road with occasional track use so nothing extreme and something that would be OK in damp road conditions!

Tou can't go to far wrong with the NS2R Nankang I used for 4.5 years, well into 2nd set.

I run 185,60,13 but you can get 185,60,14 too.

I posted the following on Sunday re NS2Rs. 

"I've now done about 150 road miles on NS2Rs (14") and am very impressed. Especially so with wet weather performance after 20 mile drive to Brands Hatch yesterday morning. Conditions started as "take the tintop" weather and after 10 miles or so encountered the aftermath of a cloudburst with road completely awash in several places. No loss of grip or twitchiness even in serious standing water. 

In both wet and dry conditions I am driving with same confidence as I had in AO21s. I'd been using them for 25+ years including race use in early days."

I have just fitted the Nangkang's too and I am very happy with them.

Hi Paul,

I've been running my Roadsport on 14" Toyo R888Rs for the last 2 years. I can't fault them, and the dry grip is so much better than Avon ZTs.
