I took my 2002 1.6 k series for MOT this morning. Passed without any issues but was advised of a number of error codes when they ran diagnostics, namely: P0443 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit P0195 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0136 02 Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor A Range/Performance The tester thought some of these may not be relevant to Caterham installation but was concerned about P0195. Any ideas about what is going on? Engine runs very well so no sign of problems.

A pointless exercise or a wheeze for staying within mileage limitation on an insurance policy?

I only ever took my dog out in the 7 once. Despite being in a harness, within 1/2 mile she was sitting in my lap. I've got a dog cage sitting in my garage. Bought to house a Cockapoo but she refused to use it. I've just checked and it is too wide to fit in S3 passenger bay. Also very tight on length.

Why would a SORN make any difference? "Your vehicle is off the road if you do not keep or use it on a public road, for example if it’s in a garage, on a drive or on private land". DVLA website.

Thanks JK. It did look over complicated for a 7. I'm aware of the more conventional methods. Back in my x/f racing days we shed wings so often that tie wraps were the preferred option.

After several years of ownership I've finally had a front wing part company with my 2002 vintage car. The mounting looks completely different to anything I've seen before. Was this ever a standard fitting? The wing was bonded to two of these plates. The weak point proved to be not the bonding but the metal plate. The other half of this one is stuck fast to the otherwise undamaged wing.

I've done about 400 miles on NS2Rs including one trip in near monsoon conditions. In my opinion they compare favourably with the AO21Rs I'd used for 25 years. No - not the same set for 25 years. When I was looking for alternatives Rainexpert 5s weren't available for 14 inch wheels.

"adhesives work much better when they're warm" Don't try sticking a number plate on to two sided tape with temperature less than 10 degrees. I speak from experience but I did find the plate two days later while out on a bike ride.

After almost 6 months I'm still very happy with NS2-Rs. Road use only in conditions ranging from dry to monsoon.

My first 7 had a start button and could be driven away by anyone with a cutoff switch. The car was regularly parked all day in Paddock at Brands Hatch where a couple of hundred people had such devices. I never worried about it being stolen.
