Windscreen to stanchion screws - size

Does anyone have any details for the size of the screws that attach the windscreen to the stanchions please?  I've searched but had no joy despite finding a few threads on the subject.

I seem to recall it's M6 from when I mounted some mirrors using the middle hole.

I hadn't even thought there was a possibility of them being metric, was sure it would be an imperial thread pattern.  I've just checked and they are an m5 thread.  It also appears that the edge of the glass starts between 6 and 7mm from the surface.  With the stanchion being 6mm thick and the heads slightly recessed it should be safe to use a 5mm x 10mm long countersunk screw (in case anyone is looking for this in the future).

I recently replaced mine with some black stainless C/S allen screws (on a black surround ) - looks much better!

Sorry to pick up an old thread, but I'm looking to take the ancient and wobbly 3 legged side mirrors off my 7

The bottom two legs hold the stanchion to the scuttle. Hence I need to get replacement screws/bolts for the bottom.

So would you know the speck of the stanchion to scuttle bolts (I think the terms are correct)?

Sure they are M8 bolts ? May depend on age of car?

5/16 UNF philips pan head screws originally on my '89 car but recently swapped to M8 x 20 socket button head which fitted fine (M8 only a few thou bigger than 5/16)
