Ralph45
I remember seeing a post earlier in the year with someone selling some Bilstein adjustable shocks so on the off chance has anyone got some available to sell.I only need the rears or the adjustment part of the rear shocks but anything in good serviceable order complete or otherwise would be great. Thanks, Ralph
Wrightpayne
Ralph,McMillan motorsport in hinckley (who support the seven race series) were selling off shocks recently perhaps worth a call. Also, Bilstein based in Leicester can recondition old shocks at a reasonable cost.RegardsIan

Tazio
And of course fitting, which determines their length, i.e. through the centre or the bottom of the de dion tube
Ralph45
The car a 98 chassis ,I'll have look at the de dion tube and report back but what is the difference between damper specs, M0 and M1 or any other variants?the car is used exclusively for the road with maybe just on or two track days. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 16, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted November 16, 2018 '98 will need the longer length Imperial-chassis shocks mounted on the bottom of the dedion tube, pre-'96 were shorter and mounted through the centre of the tube.Metric shocks might be the same as yours but someone else would need to confirm.Stu. Tazio
Typicaly M0 for road, and M1s for track work.
Ralph45
Sforshaw bang on thank you the mounts are on the underside and Tazio thanks for confirming I really should go for M0's.It really helps when others confirm what you are seeing
Ralph45
Another question, when I adjust the ride height collars is there a specific tool to use or another way of doing it,and a good practice, right way or method of doing it?
Wrightpayne
There are two types of collars - earlier are notched and later have holes. Also there is a big open ended spanner to hold the threaded tube bit whilst you spin the collarsYou should use the appropriate C spanners, however I found cheap #2 pozidrive screwdrivers fit the holes nicely on mine - I cut the pozi bit off the end.RegardsIan
