Brightonuk
I have green and white and green and red to the indicators these are wired to the indicator switch via the two terminals that are next to each other, (and out to their respective bulbs) the third terminal (that is separate from the other two) is Purple and Blue which matches up to he Caterham color code but I am not getting anything to the indicators. In addition the relay is warm to the touch which tells me it is getting power and has not blown a fuse (10a) I have changed out the relay but still nothing. The wires are all ok no nicksAny suggestions on what to check Thanks Steve
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted September 23, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted September 23, 2018 Did they just stop working? Have you used the hazard switch? If you have, switch the hazard switch on and off a few times ....Stu.
tangomikeromeo
Second finger of suspicion pointing at the hazard switch here.

SM25T
Check all relay modules pushed fully home. Have you checked all fuses. As above ... operate hazard switch a few times on and off.
revilla
This is the indicator circuit. The central terminal of the switch is connected (indirectly) to the output of the flasher unit, but only when i) the hazard switch is in the "off" position and ii) the "hazard relay" is turned on. Note that the "hazard relay" actually has nothing to do with the hazard lights, in reality its function is to make it so that the indicators will only work when the ignition switch is turned on but the hazards will work even with the ignition off. If this relay fails, the indicators fail but the hazards still work. Same is true if this relay comes loose in its socket. This relay may feel warm after the ignition has been on for some time. A fault in the hazard light switch could (and often does) leave the indicators not working (if the top pair of contacts shown in the diagram don't connect properly) but for this to result in the hazards also not working would require two separate faults within the hazard switch, which is rather less likely (the bottom pair of contacts would also have to fail). If you have lost both indicators and hazards, the most likely are for the fault to lie in is the flasher unit itself or fuse 12. If fuse 12 is OK, check that you have power on the terminal with the Purple/Blue wire at the flasher an a good earth on the terminal with the Black wire. Then try connecting a 21W bulb from the other terminal with the Light Green/Pink wire wire to ground; it should flash. If not, suspect the flasher (I suspect this already!). Brightonuk
Thank you I will try to fault check using your steps and report back
Brightonuk
OK still stumped but thank all for the responses Sometimes you just need some expert help I figure I've been at it for four hours and got nowhere (also missed the Dolphins game on the TV) so $125 bucks an hour for an expert don't hurt that bad, the scuttle is off and I sorted all the wiring into a basic order it will not take my mechanic long to suss out the issue............he says optimistically
SM25T
From Andrew's wiring diagram you should be able to follow the path of the +12V step by step with a voltmeter. That is all your man at $125/hour will do.
Brightonuk
Agreed but after 4 hours I do not know why I am not getting power the relay is good, power in is good, fuse is good but I have no idea why I am getting zero out.I am sure it is something simple and my frustration level is way up. It has not been an easy Caterham month , the crap respray dealing with the DMV in Florida trying to get it registered, breaking down the track last Tuesday and the flashers not working. I figure paying for an hours labor is worth my sanity just to move on

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted September 27, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted September 27, 2018 Ah, the old "two problems at the same time" issue. This plays havoc with the application of logic. My commiserations.
anthonym
faulty power wire, that had me fuel pump less three times last month, every time it was"the power wire" (faulty connectors in my case, mostly)p.s. it would be of interest to ask him if it was the wire itself or connects. my car is about 18 years old.
