  1. Yes, you looked well wrapped up against the rather bracing weather that day.
  2. Green. About 5pm today, just by the seafront. Lovely day for it :) Fraser.
  3. I had a similar issue last year, check your earths. Good luck. Fraser.
  4. I think the pedal too close scenario is quite likely, but I am at the limit of adjustment on both the seat and the pedals so there's not a lot more I can do. I've taken the cable assembly apart and refitted it, carefully tightening all the locknuts, making sure it's all configured as per John's incredibly useful diagram and I think it's sorted. I have applied some thread lock and I will cobble together a pedal stop this weekend. Thanks for all the advice. Fraser.
  5. Thanks John, That's how I have mine set, and it is the lock nut(s) at the bell housing end where I'm having the trouble. I'll have another go at doing up the nuts and see where that leaves me. Cheers. Fraser.
  6. My 98 K Series seems to eat clutch cables, I'm on my third in five years, however since changing the last one I'm having some real problems getting the adjustment right. When I did the roadside replacement (I always have a spare in the boot) I set the new cable up to be identical to the old one. That worked fine for a while but this recent spell of hot weather seems to have caused some new problems. When running at motorway speeds in hot weather the clutch end adjuster nuts slowly unscrew themselves and my clutch becomes inoperative. I'm assuming it's a combination of heat and vibration but does anyone know of a fix or if I've just set the whole thing up incorrectly to start with? Thanks. Fraser.
  7. Somewhere between the M40 & Reading.
  8. Jonathan, The stiffening bar seems intact and pretty much identical to the driver's side screen. The hinges and pins likewise seem fine. The screens are 19 years old, but look in pretty good shape. I guess a trip to Oxted might be the way forward. Fraser.
  9. I was making progress up the A1 yesterday in my S3 when the passenger side screen decided to join me in the cockpit (whilst still attached to the windscreen upright). Now at any speed beyond 45 mph, it refuses to stay put on the outside of the car where it belongs. It seems straight enough and it doesn't appear damaged in any way upon inspection. Are there any fixes to this issue apart from buying a new set with armrests from Thundersports? Fraser.
  10. Always wondered what that thing was for. Thanks Jonathan, that's fixed it. Fraser.
  11. Thanks Jonathan, I have a multi-meter but no idea where the inertia switch is located. Fraser.
  12. I've got a '97 1.8 K Series (unmodified). Yesterday I changed the battery as the old one was having trouble cranking to the engine no matter how many times I reconditioned it. The engine turns over just fine but I don't hear the fuel pump priming and the car will not start. I've stuck an extra 5 litres in the tank (just in case), checked the fuse (15 amps and intact) and the immobilizer (new battery in the fob and the LED flashes and switches on/off) but still no sound from the fuel pump. What should I try next? Cheers. Fraser.
  13. Hope you're enjoying your stay. Fraser.
  14. That would be me! Great day wasn't it? Love the curvy rear light clusters on your UFO, where did you get them from? Cheers! Fraser.
  15. Just to second the above, I went to Coolex over Easter for my K Supersport, they were excellent and it's a cracking radiator both functionally and visually. Fraser.
