New radiator

I've had some coolant loss. Checked car over, steam coming from the radiator.

Where is the best place for one?

1.8k series 140bhp. Mainly road use. The standard radiator was up to the job.

Are you sure you want a new one rather than seeing if it can be repaired?

Happy to go down that route if the repairs holds for a number of years. 10 year old car with the plastic top and bottom to the rad.

If you have had 10 years out of a plastic radiator you've done well. Personally I'd replace with a Radtec

That was my thinking behind a new one. 10 years seems a fair time.

Radtec are just a short drive for me too.

I have read good things about them in the past.

Beware of fitting too large a radiator as you will be over cooled on the road.  The bigger rads are only really required when racing in close quarters with the car in front with reduced effective air flow.

I got an all ali rad from Radtec worked out cheaper than one with plastic headers.Nice looking piece of kit.

Good morning all. I'm leaning towards a new one from radtec. I've used Google to search our forum and not able to use old links. (Roll eyes emoji - image one as I don't have that option with android). Service with radtec sounds very good - any issues sorted out. Since I'm only half hour away that is even easier. Repairing it - my research suggests that a repair isn't going to be cost effective as the radiator could find another place to leak so I'd need a repair which involved only keeping the plastic top and bottom and I suspect the cost would be close on a new one.

Alicool are made by an ex Radtec guy, not far from them too, got an Alicool for mine very nicely made and a fair chunk cheaper too.

I assumed that was the case with the two being so close. I'll take a drive to them both and have a chat.
