subirg
Help! Have driven all the way to the Nurburgring and just as I was heading to the track my throttle cable has snapped! It's gone at the pedal end. Car is an r400 duratec with throttle bodies. Anyone got any ideas as to how I might be able to fix it or get another one? Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 3, 2016 Member Share Posted August 3, 2016 You can make one with a bike cable (or possibly the remainder of yours) and an electrical connection block or similar. There's a description in the archives.Jonathan
SM25T
Yes. Bike cable with right diameter barrel nipple at engine end and screw nipple or electrical connector behind top of pedal tube.
SM25T
Carry a spare bike cable in the boot .... especially before long travels !
Drumster
See if you can get hold of solderless nipples!
Stridey
Just in case you hadn't worked it out, or knew before, you can remove the pedal cover easily from the engine bay. Saves diving down the footwell.sorry if that's too obvious, but if you didn't build the car you might not have realised.
Jon Stewart
There's a bike shop in Adenau that will have cables.

Domus
Don't put your spare cable in the boot, place it on top of throttle cable and fix it using a couple of cable ties. Always ready for a quick change.
