Titanium7
Is this the correct locking tool for a rover flywheel? Also is it bolted on using the stater motor mounting?

Area Representative Richard Price Posted October 23, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted October 23, 2015 Titanium7,That's the right tool, but it's designed to be used when the engine is not fixed to a bell housing.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 23, 2015 Member Share Posted October 23, 2015 There's a vast amount on the different methods in the archives, including the DVA-recommended Peugeot tool and a peg-in-the-sensor-hole method.Jonathan
Blue C7
I bought that tool from dimmer. Had to grind one side to make it fit using starter fixing holes ( after removing starter) so no chance of engine moving.

simonpa
Is your engine still in the car? I just put it in first with the handbrake on - that's enough to remove the front pulley. That or a screwdriver, if there is someone else to help. Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted October 30, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted October 30, 2015 Flat Blade screw driver with a large head FIRMLY jammed into the flywheel teeth on the LHS (as viewed from front) suffices. Also in gear, handbrake on, rear wheels chocked helps if on your own.Used this method several times when I owned a K Series car. No fun now...2.0L Duratec!
