Cycle wings

I'm about to fit cycle wings on my 160. Is the any IVA requirement that they must cover some fraction of the wheel, or anything like that.

I think I'll bolt them on rather than bond them. However, any advice welcome (before I cock it up).

Thanks, I have the IVA compliance sheet from the website. No mention of cycle wing position though.

I notice that, unless the wings are fairly far forward, they clip the body work when the steering is on full lock on both sides (and this looks further forward than I have seen on most photos). Is this the norm?

Yes, there's very little clearance and it's often not quite symmetrical at the first attempt, but there's usually a solution without any contact. Some people have discovered that they touch after fixing them...

From the iva manual.

1. The vehicle must be fitted with wheel guards
2. The wheel guard must extend at least 30 degrees from the centre
of the wheel to the front (figure 1)
3. The wheel guard must extend at least 50 degrees from the centre
of the wheel to the rear (figure 1)
4. The wheel guard must cover the full breadth of the tyre throughout
the required dimensions (see note 2 & figure 1)
5. The rear of the wheel guard must not terminate above a horizontal
plane of 150mm above the wheel centre. (see note1 & figure 1)
