myothercarsa2cv
Saw something like this on a car the other. Certainly caught my attention because I thought it was broken! So in that regard, I'd say it's quite a good idea. With regards to legality, no idea, but since the other two are solid on, I'd say it's probably ok. I'd like to see brake lights linked to an accelerometer and get brighter or blink faster the harder you brake. Put a sense of urgency in to the person behind
Atinod
Andy, Did you look at the other topic regarding 3rd brake lights? This flasher was mentioned and seems a great idea to me. I've just asked Car Builder Solutions if they do something similar, as I'm going to order soon, but unfortunately they don't. I wouldn't imagine a legal issue, as the third light is optional and the other two light up as usual as myothercarsa2cv says.
Roger Ford
There's a UK supplier of that on Amazon for £4.79 - here. Only 21p more than getting it from Hong Kong on ebay.

Eugene
Eeeek! I HATE those things... Likely to be the cause of an accident if you ask me (not that you did - well, you kinda did really). 😔
Pezky
Many modern tin-tops brake lights flash under emergency braking.
Roger Ford
Brake lights? Or hazard lights? My tintop's hazard lights certainly come on under heavy braking.
