  1. Mine is on the bulkhead a bit left of the midline of the passenger and high above their legs Mine is similar. I've found that the large plug of the sat nav plus the weight of the trailing lead tends to vibrate it loose when driving. I think mounting it more vertically would be better. 5. S reg yellow Caterham with nose cone and bonnet off around 7pm last night. I returned to the roundabout and parked in the small service area to see if I could help. As I walked back to the duel carriageway, a police car with flashing blue lights pulled up. As I was thinking whether to cross the duel carriageway in front of the police or not, an RAC van pulled up too, just to prove you were not in need of my help! I hope you managed to get it sorted. 6. Andy, Did you look at the other topic regarding 3rd brake lights? This flasher was mentioned and seems a great idea to me. I've just asked Car Builder Solutions if they do something similar, as I'm going to order soon, but unfortunately they don't. I wouldn't imagine a legal issue, as the third light is optional and the other two light up as usual as myothercarsa2cv says.
  7. I've just bought one of these
  8. It is an interesting question Richard and I'm thinking the same regarding my newly acquired R400 as it happens. My last 7 had an aero, 4-point and SLR cage and I always wore a helmet [as did passengers], so there wasn't a problem. I like the additional safety that a cage brings but don't want the need to wear a helmet except for track days. I've been considering the academy/roadsport type cage but worry about head impact too, even with a 4-point tightly fastened. I'm wondering if adding FIA roll cage padding is equally dangerous as it appears extremely stiff so might only be intended for use in conjunction with a helmet? It gives a flat contact point rather than one with a radius, but I think the stiffness would also cause injury? I suppose my question is; is there another form of roll cage padding that would be suitable as that might be a good solution? James Edited by - Atinod on 3 Jan 2013 13:22:37
  9. Hello, 'twas me on day one of R400 Duratec ownership, taking my daughter for her first spin. Not bad to get a 'spotted' immediately! A big change from my Caterham Hayabusa and James Whiting Fireblade before that..... but I must say I'm loving the engine torque, the 6-speed box, the windscreen, doors and some warmth ❗, not to mention the the popping and banging
  10. I would absolutely agree with Rob regarding Ian Dayson, who has worked on my busa too. He has great attention to detail and a very high standard of work
  11. I didn't see this thread until today , but although Steve has produced the carbon style ones already he will be able to run a set of black gloss for me, so thanks
  12. Those CBS ones certainly look easier to fit. The Transit ones are a bit of a job to do.
  13. presumably the transit repeaters are "e" marked I can't confirm for sure - but they come from a Transit Connect and I passed SVA with them, so I presume they are. Mine are fitted to black 5.75" bowls as it happens.
  14. I followed Kevin's suggestion and used the Transit Connect side repeaters. I think that they look better than the other options that I've seen, IMHO. His photos here This was the original post [search for 'transit connect' if this next link doesn't work.... Original post Blatmail me and I can email you a pic of mine if you like. James
