SUPERLIGHT91
After fitting new steering rack gaiters to my brother's car for MOT this week: Any guides on setting tracking so to preserve the tyre wear on one of his nice fresh pair of CR500's up front? Alternatively can anyone recommend an establishment in the South East (Kent/Surrey) that can set this - and/or will my local Watling tyres be able to do a good enough job to preserve the tyres. Car was flat-floored by Caterham last year, so just want to optimise the tracking again for now. (which did transform the handling actually) - its a bit low for road use really (as its not dry sump and has quite a low early race exhaust) but find a smooth section (ie a track) and it offers very sweet handling. I would also be interested in any tips to set it for road use in future to make it a bit more forgiving when touring and to tackle some our harsh roads that seem to be getting worse every year. Krismuss
I got mine sorted at DPR Motorsport (they prepare race Caterhams) over near Dorking. Not very expensive and excellent results too, car was transformed for the drive home. Look up my recommendation from a year or so ago on here. makingff
Always worth trying Richard Young at Automotive Engineering in Uckfield. He's a member (jj48) and looks after several members cars. Highly recommended. Simon
