Griff
Does anyone know who makes the replacement for the blue dry sump plate on a K-series which includes the drain plug? I had one on a previous car that saved the hassles and mess at oil change time and I'd like to fit one to the current car. Cheers all. AshleyBanks
Griff, Did you ever find an alternative to the Meteor dry sump plate as £90 all in is a hefty price tag?
rj
Hmmm Having it machined, anodised and sourcing a magnetic drain plug... I couldn't do that for 75£ - the rest is for the government.
NoLimits
Don't forget there is a Club Discount.
6speedmanual
I decided long ago not to purchase this gizmo. Oil extraction with a pump is quicker and cleaner. The plate adds cost, weight and complexity. Buy a suction pump for £45 and spend the rest on some petrol for a blat Peter
Griff
I have to agree with Peter. Though actually the cost to make up a plate was nothing like £75 - I wouldn't bother with anodising something I have to crawl under the car to see - it was just too much hassle for the benefit. It's better to pump out the oil and do a full change at the end of the season. An advantage of the pump is you can see how much oil is extracted and replace the same volume plus a bit for the filter, avoiding overfilling and the fun and mess that entails...
