Roger Ford
When driving on the road last weekend (an uncommon experience) I was running at around 50mph in third, and noticed that if I tried to hold a constant speed, the car would occassionally "surge" forward with an extra burst of power for a few seconds, then drop back. It did it in 4th gear as well, but was more noticable in third. Is this normal? Or does it perhaps indicate a sensor or component not working properly? My car does seem to have lost some speed recently, and I've been trying to find the culprit. This is an EU3 1600 K, standard spec (Supergrad / ex-Academy). skydragon
Could it perhaps be the Throttle Pot ? (just a guess, but it could give the symptoms you describe?) HTH Chris
CharlesElliott
Were you accidentally pressing your secret 'turbo' button?
Graham King
Roger, not quite the same but my brother recently had an issue on his K-Series, whereby it was fine under acceleration but had all sorts of problems under constant load (it was well discussed on here). In the end we traced to a failing Throttle Position Sensor, a replacement completely fixed the issue. We were lucky in that I had a spare he could try as they are expensive simply to try (approx £100). If someone local is prepared to let try they are pretty easy to swap over. Graham. Roger Ford
Thanks for that. Do you know where the TPS is on CC's online store? I couldn't find it.

CharlesElliott
Sounds like you need an OBD2 reader to check the TPS voltage :-)
