huwp
Car is a Sigma 125 with a 5 seed Type 9 'box and has done 9,000 miles. Out driving today and after 20 minutes couldn't select any gear. Coasted to a halt, then after a couple of minutes all seemed well again. Drove another 60 miles with no problem. Thoughts?
Mankee
Did the clutch pedal feel weird at the time and did the gearstick physically go into gear but there was nothing there?
huwp
Slight graunching as I came out of 4th then stuck in neutral.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Does the Sigma have an hydraulic clutch with the slave hidden inside the bellhousing ? Is the fluid level ok in the master cylinder ? Hope it isn't a problem inside the bellhousing ?
Martin J
Does the Sigma have an hydraulic clutch with the slave hidden inside the bellhousing ? Yes it does. Does your roadsport have the clutch stop fitted through the pedal box? My reverse had become very difficult to select but after reaching down with a couple of spanners & adjusting it in a couple of turns it's much better. As Ian said, check fluid level & possibly bleed it if it plays up again. Any problem with the slave cylinder would be an engine out job though
huwp
Not sure about the clutch stop. Will remove pedal box cover and see what's what. Whether it will mean anything to me is another matter. Edited by - huwp on 7 Aug 2011 18:31:
John Alston
Had the complete gear lever housing come loose on 2 cars I've owed. It throws up all sorts of weird gear selection problems. Only needs the 3 securing bolts re-tightened using threadlock to cure the problem
