andyvicarage
At 30mph my speedo reads 40mph! At 70mph it reads 100mph. Not only is it hard to guage my actual speed, but I am clocking up extra unnecessary milage. As I plan to use the car a lot this summer, I want to get it sorted. I realise that if the car was calibrated when fitted with big wheels, and you changed to smaller ones the speedo would read high. However my car is fitted with 16inch wheels, so if these are not those the car was calibrated with surely my speedo would read low. Have I missed something? Can I adjust or get recalibrated? It is an electrically powered speedo with digital LCD milage display. Can anyone offer advice?
The Pikey
I think you can adjust it by pressing the buttons in a certain sequence. I'd give Brett a call at Midlands if no one comes up with a proper answer Jason
David Lynch
here Dependent on age of Speedo as to whether dip switches on the back or single button on the front. Searching through Tech talk for Speedo Dip Switch or Calibration will bring a few old threads up As for my old VDO
