John Ryan
Caterham 1995 crossflow Sprint, British Racing Green with yellow nosecone. M registration Purchased in 2006 as a category D vehicle, and completely rebuilt with; NEW BODY AND CHASSIS UNIT. The chassis was built to accept the post 96 front suspension. Live axle New suspension including springs / dampers / Suspension arms and roll bar New petrol tank and lines New FIA bar Momo removable steering wheel Electric fuel pump with guage (original also in place) Electronic ignition New master cylinder and front discs, new pads, and later front calipers New light units LSD with rear discs (added later) Rebuilt engine and 5 - speed gearbox from HWR engineering - Runs perfectly New propshaft New clutch New wheel bearings New bolts throughout and copasliped. New wings (but secondhand nosecone) cloth seats with headrests FIA roll bar Quick rack screen, doors and half-hood 13' anthracite wheels Smaller black lights VOSA inspected at the time Immobiliser with certificate (Works on fobs) Full MOT Rear wheel carrier currently removed, but can be replaced. Looks great and runs really well. I realise the Cat D issue will affect the cars value, but in my view the fact that this car has had a new chassis unit 5 years ago counters this to a degree. Priced (I hope) realistically at £7,600 (FINAL REVISED PRICE, otherwise I will be keeping it!) YOU CAN CALL ME ON 07894 607 064 IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS I also have some extras to sell when the car is gone, but these will be offered to the buyer first Set of 5 14' wheels and tyres. 4-1 Exhaust Post 96 Front suspension Original lights The reason for sale is that I want to buy a later Duratec SV version. John Ryan
Thanks for the replies. I will respond at the weekend. At the moment I am dealing with an office move of my business, so things are hectic to say the least. I do have pictures, and can supply them to anyone interested. Mark Piper
Out of interest, are these HWR people based in Newcastle?
John Ryan
I think they are based up that way. I picked the engine and box up from a rolling road place in the midlands. They dropped it off there with another engine they had built. The engine has been very reliable (once I had sorted the ignition system out) I agree with the other comments, I would have hoped it would have sold by now, but although I have had a few mails, no-one has even been to see it!
