New dedion tube?

Recommended Posts

In the process of performing a complete rebuild on my 2000 superlight I've found a minor (5-7mm long) crack at the base of the weld on the pass side shock mount on the dedion tube (the mount is on the underside of the tube). Now I know this is a known issue but is the general consensus to replace the tube (its 11years old but rust free) rather than have the crack welded?

Your linky doesn't now work, do you still have pictures please?

I've just noticed a small (couple of cm) brown (rust) hairline crack under the pass side suspension upright welded mounting lug.

I presume this can be welded and reinforced without the need for a new Dedion tube??

Can this be done with the tube in situ with the damper units removed or has the tube got to be removed???

Cheers
