Whats My Diff?

Hi All,

I was just wondering how to tell what diff ratio is in my car?

It's a 6 speed Supersport k 1998.

I would guess it will be a 3.62 but it may be 3.92

 

down load GearCalc and enter in your tyre size etc. and you should be able to work it out

I could be talking total rubbish here, but you could try the following: stick it in 6th (as it's a 1:1 ratio) and then rotate the crank pulley one full revolution and count how many times the rear wheels revolve and that should give you the diff ratio. Closer to 3.5 turns then ratio is 3.62 and almost 4 turns then 3.92. Or you could try the GearCalc method. 😬

Or just look at the metal plat on one of the higher bolts of the diff cover.

or turn the prop and count how many turns equals 10 rotations of the wheels ?
